Crowdtap is awesome! A couple months ago I received coupons for myself and three friends to each get a free dress from Old Navy. We had a blast and got such cute dresses, it was awesome! Last month, I applied to be in another Old Navy Sample Share that allowed myself and one friend to get a pair of Old Navy jeans for free!
Last week we decided to head out to Old Navy and try on some jeans for the sample share! My friend and I headed over and both found several styles to try on and choose from. I grabbed the "Tipai" and "Rinse" washes of the Slim Flare (flares are my FAVORITE jean style) and Wide-Leg Trouser jeans. After we browsed the store and picked out some other items to try on, we headed for the fitting room. I tried on a size 6 Slim Flare in "Rinse" first and was not even able to button them. I decided just to try the size 6 in the "Tipai" rinse because I had them in the fitting room already, and was surprised when they buttoned fairly easily. I noticed the fit was very tight through the thigh and butt, and would assume that is where the "Slim Flare" name comes from. I tried on both rinses of the Trouser jeans and while I preferred the darker wash, I didn't care for the style on my body type. I went and tracked down a size 8 in the Tipai Slim Flare and found those to fit exactly the same through the butt and thighs (literally, no difference between the 8's and the 6's in that area) and almost exactly the same fit in the waist with an added gap right at the middle-back of the waist band. My experience with Old Navy jeans is that a smaller size usually fits better after a couple wears than a larger size does, so I stuck with the Tipai Slim Flare in a size 6. I absolutely LOVE the whiskering in the jeans, the button close back pockets, the color of the rinse, and the size of the flare. I don't love that my store only carried these jeans in a Regular length and that the difference in sizes was minimal.
My friend tried on several styles and sizes as well and finally narrowed it down to the Diva bootcut jeans in "Talc" and the Braid-Trim Skinny Jeans in "Maddock". The Skinny Jeans were a clear winner, and my friend was THRILLED with her purchase - she changed into them as soon as we got home!
I have worn my new jeans several times now, and I am so glad I chose the smaller size. They really have broken in well, but not to the point of being fitting.
All in all, we really enjoyed the sample share. My only real complaint with Old Navy on most of their products is fit. I feel like they could really improve in that area on almost all of their clothes. I am a pretty standard size 8 bottom/medium top kind of girl, but I find that I am all over the board at Old Navy and can't settle into a specific size at their stores.
