oh shit! it's been like a week! so much happens in a week! sometimes i kick myself for not updating every day cause so many funny things happen and i wanna remember them all! well, for one thing, alicia and i are pimps. there are constantly guys in our room.....usually 2-4......haha we're all friends, it's not like THAT but anyway....there's also this really weird sound in our room that occurs at awkward times and we don't know what it is! it's a little squeaky, but i can't really describe it.....i thought it was alicia's bed, she thought it was my throat......so we named it Johnson and it protects us from Gladys, which is this poor scary girl in my genetics book.....we are so goin to hell....
soooo i've had a good week...here's the classes breakdown:
MWF
Peoples of the World: Interesting class, the only class i have with someone on my floor (Carlos) and laura from gamma sig, but the teacher is cracked out and her brain moves too fast for her mouth and she sounds spaztic and like she's yelling.....and i have 4 or 5 papers for it....but i'll get through it.
Intro to Soc and Cult Anthro: OMG I LOVE MY PROF! He is amazing and smart and interesting and cool......i may just have to marry him. heheh. but even the readings are really interesting.
i know now that i wanna be a cultural and applied anthropologist....study cultures, and take findings from all the branches of anthro and apply them to trying to solve problems we have today. my bros friend drew and this crazy kid joe are in my class....i am not going to survive!
Contemporary Moral Probs: The prof is australian....paige is in my class so that's cool. so is nicole from gamma sig. i love hearing the guy talk and he's pretty cool. 30% of my grade
is "discussion" which is NOT in class, but online we post on a message board about many controversial topics. He won't give us a numerical amount, because he doesn't want people half-assing it. I posted on abortion, euthanasia, affirmative action, the pledge with "under g-d" in it, the u.s. and if we're better, and homosexuality. it's interesting. some people are crazy smarter than i am. ah well.
TR
Human Heredity and Development: One of my science classes to satisfy Group D reqs. Surprisingly, i like it! I think it's cause the prof is a cool, mom-ish teacher who is really
enthusiastic about what she teaches. I have done parts of a cell and mitosis and meiosis billions of times in high school, but they didn't mean anything and i didn't understand them until now. I love how she could make it interesting and easier to understand. The prof, in many cases, makes it or breaks it for me, and she is also very visual, and i am too. we are a great match.
Intro to International Women's Studies: Um, another cracked out prof who is going senile. Don't really like her, could be an interesting class, but half the time i think she's in a dream
land in her head and talking to herself instead of illustrating a point. oh well, whatever.
So yes, Dichotomy is going well too, although the directing is extremely different and a bit more anal than i am used to. It's going from one extreme i have had for four years of high school to another extreme. i'll get used to it. i haven't really done anything stage-manager-worthy yet. but a lot of assignments/tests/quizzes/midterms happen during tech and performance week for me, so survival will be interesting.
my wrists hurt. more fun stuff later.
love you all,
Steph
P.S. thanks for being my valentine teej <3
