Oh.Mah.God.

eolivet did you see/hear/catch on ESPN what The Verlander did tonight!? A no hitter. A freaking no hitter in his second year in MLB. The first no hitter in Detroit since 1952. I was watching the game and it was...unreal. The croud was NUTS by the 9th inning, ESPN cut into thier programming to show it ( Read more... )

I SAW!!! And I totally thought of your icon!!! :D Yet another reason why he's so freaking scary!!!

(And dude, what was up with all the birds on the field? Seriously -- my husband and I thought they were bags ;)

I hope he's in the rotation when we play Boston in a couple weeks. :-)

Noooooo!! :dives under table: :p

Thank you for the ESPN article, as well...if Mitch writes anything on it, could you let me know? :)

Did you see the whole game? Or just the end? Cause there were some AWESOME defensive plays. This place is still crazy this morning! FSN is reairing the game today at 12...wish I knew, I would have taped it.

And dude, what was up with all the birds on the field?

Apparenly moth eggs are hatching and the birds looove them so thats why they are all over the place. MSU agricultural school is supposed to come down and try and help fix the problem.

I havent seen anything from Mitch yet this morning but www.freep.com has some awesome articles. Ill let you know if I see Mitch. I have to imagine he will write something. Probably in tomorrows paper, I dont think he covers every Tigers game.

I almost want a new Verlander icon, but this one is too perfect. :-)

No, I only saw the end -- and some highlights. It wasn't broadcast here, I don't think (not an ESPN game, right?) and I didn't get home until almost 11 anyway. But ESPN News had highlights -- with some of those amazing defensive plays!!! That was really a team effort, which is awesome. :)

Oh, heeee -- I didn't know there was an actual reason! I just thought it was kind of...random. ;p It just added to the perceived intensity of the game, I think -- all the birds flying around with the pitches. :p

Thanks for keeping an eye out for Mitch for me. :D And hey...who's to say you can't have two Verlander icons? ;)

not an ESPN game, right?)

Nope, it was local. But if ESPN is smart everytime Verlander starts they should make it the national game. :-)

Yeah, the spouse heard about the moth eggs on sports radio (he drives all day) and thought it was funny.

I could have two, but I just dont think another one would be as...fitting. :-)
