I think I hit the jackpot with the D20 mecha game I'm running. I'm pumped going into the game, the energy is high during the game, and I can't wait for next week after it ends. I have a great batch of players who are into helping me shape the fledgling campaign setting. I'm okay with all the ridiculous prep time I've put into it, because I feel like it's paying off.
The game suffers from two problems, though. First, it's too short. We get about three and a half hours of playtime in after the BSR meeting, and I always want to keep going another couple hours. Also, I keep turning away people I really want in my game, because it's at capacity. Quality will go downhill if we have more than five players.
I'm toying with the idea of running a second game with a different group on a different day of the week. Ideally, this would be Sunday early afternoon or later evening, at my place. Or maybe Friday early in the afternoon. In my perfect world, I'd grab Karl and Michael from the BSR, Dusty and possibly Kevin from work, with one or two spots open for others. Maybe Ray/Opal (gamers who occasionally pop in to BSR meetings). It'd be the same campaign, with each PC team affecting the outcome of the game in its own way.
Any thoughts? Scheduling? Other people interested in the game?
