My PBA hero Robert Jaworski's going to kill me for saying this, but I have finally found one battle I cannot win.
I have decided to wave the white flag.
There's a difference between being brave and being stupid, or between a selective fighter and a quitter. Some battles, maybe I wasn't really meant to win, not even with all the effort and skill in the world.
Took me 10 months to face the harsh reality of all my inadequacies outweighing my fighting spirit. I've known for a long time this wasn't going anywhere, but the fighter in me refused to roll over and die. Back then I chose to go all out, all guns blazing in the typical rah-rah fashion. Today I choose to quietly fade into the night - humbled and battered, yes, but wiser and filled with more resolve to win my next battle which I shall carefully pick. Time for me to shoot for another star.
I give up. You win.
