alright so today i have every intention of getting caught up today! OK so from St. Raphael we took the train to nice....well kinda jumped a tgv (they are the high speed trains that are hella expensive and you need a reservation for) we chilled at the Nice train station for a while then caught the night train to rome. pretty uneventful train ride....nothing overly important or interesting to report. once in rome graham and i went our seprate ways, after a tearful goodbye. haha nah kidding basically we got off the train i was like theres the way to the metro and grahams like ok where the train to pisa. it was cool getting on my own for a bit. the hostel in rome was really pretty cool and cheap! with a bar and restaurant connected. unfortunatly it was a bit of a ways out of town. spent the first day in rome just wandering around cheaking out some sights and what not. that night when i got back i met my roommates for the next couple nights. a girl from burmuda and one from zwassiland....never met a zwassilander before. how cool would it be to say hi im carla and im from zwassiland. i probably just spelt zwassiland wrong a good four times but oh well. the other girl was from baltamore we hit it off pretty well and ended up goin into the city together on the second day. we pretty much saw all of rome in a day. the major sites anyways....colloseum, palintine hill, piazza popolo, trevi fountain, vikktor emmanual monument, and the spanish steps which i was really dissapointed with them. i could see them being pretty cool but the chuch is being restored so you dont get the dramatic back drop.. that night sarah and i were in the bar and met a couple of guys who we were hanging out with all night they were complianing about having to sleep in sarah proceeded to offer for them to sleep in to spare beds...kinda random...2 relitivly strange guys sharing our room... a 20 person dorm. we were like haha we got 2 people in a 6 person dorm. the next day i basically was at the vatican all day. st peters basilica is true beautiful. for someone is not particularly religious it did effect me. the shear size and grandur of it blew me away. i climbed the stairs to the top of the cuppola threw the narrowest scetchyest spiral stair case ever. the view was so totally worth it you could see more of rome from the top. after the vatican i went to the national museum which was pretty cool it had all sorts of old sculpture and artifacts. the building was actually a really old building that used to be a church good times. that night i ended up drinking way to much wine and going to be way to late for the time i woke up the next morning go to the sistine chapple before taking the train to florance.
