i love school nights in new york

Well Monday was pretty awesome but not as great as Tuesday..

monday had classes and work as usual. but got to get off of work early to go to a night lecture. the night lecture was a performance artist karen kinnley who was amazing. i didnt like the last performance artist that we had to see as much, but this was just great -- it was called the passion of terri schivo.. a feminist piece about how we project our insecurities onto icons.

tuesday--- hell ya. i cant explain my excitement. well had a great day at studio.. singing, stanisklavki, and then 4 hours of improvisation went well. BUT went down to the minetta lane theatre in Greenwich to see My Name is Rachel Corrie AGAIN because its amazing, i had read the script, and it was tuesday night talk back. got student rush tickets, but bc it was talk back night and there were famous ppl there, they wanted to amke sure it looked full.. i was third row center.. annnndd the talk back pannel was all AROUND ME.

tony kushner two seats to my right, robert o hara directly to my left, the director for lincoln center behind me as i overheard his theatre stories to his friends, david haire the playwright behind, and a few rows behind that alan rickman (the director of the show) Talk back was on politics and the role of theatre relating to politics and changing views of the middle eastern situation. some right wing radical tried to yell some comments about israel and democracy being capitalism, but tony jusher yelled - this is not true! and the man was escorted out by security. david haire, on telling of his anti-ush play (although no one probably knows who he is he is HUGE and wrote screenplays for the hours, among countless other shows) said thatin a part of his show, he has bush as a character and has edited together his speeches.. while the show wasplaying in the west end, a british person stood up and yelled "i hope this is fiction!!!!!"
haha i love it

anyway, the playwrights in politics talk back on election night was the coolest thing id ever seen pretty much. aside from alan rickman pushing my shoulder in the lobby and saying in his accent, "excuse me." lol anyway, i was star struck which doesnt happen that often.

chris will be here tomorrow or friday. whichever flight he can get. today i had work. some funny things, im starting to really like the studio directors especially gardeners class...

DEMOCRATS are the shit this year and that is all. people are walking in the streets yelling that rumsfeld (sp) is a pussie, and bush a liar and a cheat. Got to love living in a blue state.
