Thank you for the kind words. 2012 can kiss my butt; I'm looking forward to 2013.
I find House's complex and conflicting needs endlessly fascinating. A true introvert, he can only recharge when he has solitude, but he tends to veer into moodiness and melancholy if he's left alone for a moment too long. He needs to be pushed and challenged, and surrounds himself with a team of employees that he knows he can count on to tell him when he's going off the diagnostic deep end, but he hates wasting his time on arguing with, or explaining his intuitions, to idiots. And, for someone who seems to so enjoy exasperating and challenging the people who love him, he has, from the very beginning of the series, had such an absolute horror of burdening them (although he obviously is very dependent on them, and especially on Wilson) that he has a tendency to close up or deflect (very skillfully, too) when he's in need of supportive services. Poor Cuddy & Wilson always have such a tighrope to walk -- "can't win" is putting it mildly.

Thanks again for reading & reviewing.
