A handful of people that I know very well
Have recently discussed their future plans
Decisions have tossed them far across
A map of the earth drawn in life sized scale

They tore up the houses of hundreds of animals
To house five families in poorly made houses
In cul-de-sac dead-ends shaped like dollar signs
In houses where everyone owns a bathroom

Husbands and wives and kids all live alone
In separate houses within one giant house
With bare white rooms in sawdust kitchens
They bought enough furniture to fill the space

A handful of people that I knew very well
Have traveled in planes and boats and cars
And I'm not sure exactly what they're up to
I currently don't keep in touch with most of them
