It's been a LONG LONG TIME since I posted ANYTHING. Lots of video games. Lots of school. Lots of conventions and working and AAARGH!
So here are some ficlets from my < lj user="ficlets100"> table that I NEVER finished. Damn that thing can take a while...
Title: Memorial
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Character/s: General
Prompt: 54.Disable
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
The car had been parked beneath an ancient willow outside of town for longer than anyone could remember, its make and model eroded dozens of winters ago, its color dictated by the fauna that germinated from season to season both inside and out. It never attracted much attention, outside of the wayward photographer or romanticized artist who managed to “discover” it anew every few years, and little mention was ever made of who the owner might be, or how it came to rest in the Webley fallow field.
Tony remembered that Tim had found it beautiful, though. So that became his memorial.
Title: Incriminating
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Character/s: General
Prompt: 60.On My Own
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Owen ran his fingers through his messy hair, taking a step back to survey the damage: The desks were in shambles, files torn open and their contents purged across various office surfaces, cabinets half-open and half-empty, a wayward chair lying on its side amidst the corralled waste bins. It looked as if a bomb had gone off not long ago, but that wasn’t the case this time around.
“You never let anyone help, do you?” Evan smirked, tossing more sealed folders to his brother before sitting down with a stack of his own.
“Just find the bloody picture,” Owen grumbled, blushing crimson.
Title: Back Office
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Character/s: General (Skinner/Frank)
Prompt: 64.Give Up
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG-13
“Simon, what on earth-??!?”
“So sorry, Frank. Thought I spied something of interest-”
“I happen to be working, Mr. Skinner.”
“Now now, Frank, no need to be so testy-”
“Simon, I’m warning you-!”
“That’s hardly a deterrent, if I recall.”
“-….I could lose my job, Simon. More than that if the wrong person-”
“No one comes back here, Inspector, I assure you.”
“Simon, I-!”
Tina held her breath as she listened to the conversation turn into the unmistakable sounds of rough, panicked sex, and didn’t catch her breath until she’d run clear across town to Doris’s back door.
Title: What Could Have Been a Story
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Character/s: General (Andes)
Prompt: 92.Morning Sun
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Andrew dropped the smoking nub of cigarette in the gravel before grinding it to a fine mash beneath his shoe. The last traces of smoke curled upward into the clear early-morning sky, the vapor trail from a passing commercial jet creating what seemed from Andrew’s vantage point a wispy cross. He’d heard the Pope was arriving in America today. He certainly didn’t envy him.
“Andrew, what’re you waiting for?” Andy teased, smiling as he came up behind his friend and grabbed him by the elbow, bare arms and scraped knees just like when they were boys, when they were innocent.
Title: Alarm Clock
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Character/s: General (Nicholas/Danny)
Prompt: 99.Writer's Choice
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Danny loved to watch Nicholas sleeping. He was so relaxed, comfortably curled toward Danny’s warmth, his fingers twitching spasmodically when Danny propped himself on one elbow and moved ever so slightly away. Nicholas’s smile was warm and effortless while sleeping, the easiest look of content his superior ever managed to muster always the one he had no conscious thought for. When he slept with Danny, he could switch off.
“Morning, love,” Nicholas murmured, taking Danny by surprise, his smile broadening as he pulled Danny down into his arms, and the faint tickle of Nicholas’s laughter against his neck in counterpoint to his heartbeat was almost enough to drown out the alarm.
