I'm the same! Especially if it's a fandom with characters that I've known a long time and can't really see them doing something like that...eg. Jack O'Neill in Stargate, or Danny in HF.
The one exception I've encountered was an *incredibly* Doctor/Master Doctor Who fic by violetisblue and jonquil, which was just an incredibly written emotional rollercoaster that wasn't just "And then they spanked!", but a psychological powerplay. And because the characters were believable the piece was too.
But it's just not some people's bag *shrugs* 99% it totally squicks the crap out of me and I run away and read something nice and fluffy :)
To each their own! You know me, I'm all over the place, and very little bothers me. But what DOES bother me, bothers me to the point of simple avoidance. Nothing wrong with that.
You know yourself best of all, and you know if this discomfort is a problem or not; but my first thought is, well, so what? Yeah, you might be missing out on some good writing, but there is plenty of good writing out there (even on sandfordpolice!) that does not include bondage.

It's just like how I can't eat beets because they make me projectile vomit.

My 2 cents.
