It can't be done: A review of Ocean's Thirteen

Jun 14, 2007 22:46

So, on Tuesday night, I saw Ocean's Thirteen. I'd say it was better than Twelve, but not as good as Eleven. Then again, most sequels aren't as good as the original...even if the original is a remake. That almost made sense. Again, as usual, if you are trying to avoid spoilers, then don't read below.

This movie is about revenge. The villain, Willy Bank here has muscled out one of the crew from a deal on a hotel/casino in Las Vegas. So, the others want revenge. However, they will need funding from Terry Benedict, who they robbed in the first movie, and help from Roman Nagel, who provided the holographic egg in the second.

In order to get back at Bank, the group plans a "reverse big store" where it doesn't matter if the group wins, just as long as someone other than the casino does. The problem is the people will stay too long and put the money back into the casino. Also, they need to steal the diamonds Bank has received over the years for the other hotels around the world he owns.

That's about all I want to say on the movie.

Because I'm a member of some rewards program, I got a free popcorn that would normally have cost $5.50. Let me rephrase that...because I'm a member of some rewards program, I got a free popcorn that I wouldn't normally have gotten. So, that was pretty cool.

Mood: Could you make it any more complicated?
