(no subject)
So I was thinking about the latest episode of Gravity Falls, Not What He Seems. Spoiler alert for those who haven’t watched it yet; also, I haven’t looked at any of the other discussions or conspiracies and extra stuff like that because I just watched the episode today and I didn’t want to spoil anything for myself, so I might be clueless about things you already know. But anyway...
Stan has a twin! For some reason, the biggest thing that got to me was how clever the creators were, because (I think) having twins kind of runs in the family, so since Mable and Dipper are twins, it makes sense that Stan has a twin! Get it? Am I the only one who thinks that’s cool? Right, just me then.
So...’Stan Pines’ presumably died in a car accident. The way I see it, Gruncle Stan’s twin, the real Stan Pines, must have gotten stuck in the portal somehow, so Gruncle Stan, not wanting anyone else to find out, faked his brother’s death. What doesn’t add up, though, is why he is pretending to be Stan. Wouldn’t it make more sense that, if Real Stan got stuck in the portal, Gruncle Stan would make everyone believe instead that Real Stan died, then continue as he was, as Stan’s brother? Or, fake his own death and pretend to be Real Stan? And have I said ‘Stan’ too many times? What was I saying?
Well, that was my theory earlier when I was watching the episode but now I’m not so sure...
I suppose we’ll only find out for sure when the next episode comes out! (Whenever that is...) In the mean time, let’s speculate on what Gruncle Stan’s brother is going to be like! My first thought was that he was going to be another Gruncle Stan but then I was like, no way! Just think of Dipper and Mable! I wouldn’t call them polar opposites but they’re still very different, and anyway, Gravity Falls isn’t the kind of show that would do something as lazy as that, especially with such a big character. So, then, what’s he like? I bet he’s going to be the opposite of Gruncle Stan, instead! As in, the upstanding citizen who would never not pay his taxes (for example) and clever scientist. Well, that last one is a given, he has to be clever if he did all the things we know he did but the former? The kind that’s like, “Stan, when will you stop swindling people of their money and get a real job?” And then Gruncle Stan is like, “Never!! As long as their is breath in my body and dumb, gullible people with money, I will never stop scamming them!” I kind of think they’ll be like street smart and book smart; our Gruncle Stan is more of the opportunist and quick on his feet, while his brother is the genius professor.
But this is all just speculation on my part to fill the void until the next episode and I really should be going to bed now.
