Today is most definitely a curl up on the couch with tracky dacs and snuggle with your man type of day. I've got the tracky dacs going but alas, no man! *sigh*
Met a man last night... not really. I finally met the guy that my mate has been wanting to set me up with. There wasnt any heart thumping or internal melting... in fact I didnt really speak to him as such... I spoke to the group at large and just couldnt bring myself to make eye contact (it scares me!).
He's stupidly shy (apparently as soon as I got dropped off home he started nattering away... not about me...just in general - didnt really talk much while I was there). I was expecting a guy with spiky brown hair but unfortunately he'd just gone a number 2 recently and he reminded me of Smithy's mate Bushell (for those of you that remember him)... well from what I could see without looking at his face too much (in case he was looking at me and I'd have to make eye contact). That said he did seem nice and I defintely dig his taste in music (he's a DJ that doesnt really do much DJing anymore...lol).
I guess I will have to make sure that I meet him again from time to time to see what I can find out about him and how we get along...from my first reaction to him I'm pretty sure nothing will eventuate but I guess it comes down to the question I am asking myself: "Does there need to be physical attraction at first sight for there to be hope in the relationship?" - I'm sure plenty of ppl would say no, the more you get to know someone, if you like their personality the physical attraction can grow... I worry that I am too superficial.
All of that aside it's quite likely that the lack of physical attraction was mutual - I'm certainly way too unconventional in my appearance to be that which most guys would say was their cup of tea.
*shrug* I'm not feeling particularly disheartened by this all - which is a wee bit of a surprise since the idealist part of me had hoped that I would find in him the man of my dreams and then the search and the stress associated with it would be a thing of the past! Guess the old cliche of "only time will tell" is an apt one in this situation.
Just in case anyone who is coming to yum cha 2mrw is reading this, I just thought I would state the obvious and say that it would be best for ppl not to ask me about this boy while we are out bce Matt is coming out too! Lol!
Bring it on is on 2nite so I might just curl up on the couch [alone] and watch what is one of my favourite movies!
