So, either that curd was off, or I'm developing digestive problems with white rice. Both possibilities are inconvenient, but the later will make me cook more, so it could be a mixed blessing. Or a third possibility: that this "fried" rice was cooked near or with animal grease. Or maybe a likely combination of all three!
I'm excited about my presentation tonight. I'm in a pretty relaxed state of mind (having successfully effected an amused coworker grumpiness attitude :), and I'm looking forward to the challenge of not putting people to sleep or confusing them with a lot of talk about aromaticity and DNA adduction and root exudate cometabolites and such. I'm also eager to work on a paper on this topic, though I'm not quite sure what tack to take, maybe research further into the mechanisms of phytoremediation.
I had a conversation with L Train last night about lab work nostalgia, it tuns out that we BOTH enjoyed delicious dehumanization to the soundtrack of Radical Connector. High five! I miss that mechanical meditative processing state, so productive. There's a chance that, if they hadn't insisted on throwing me onto the hot burning coals of first shift every third weekend, that I'd still be at Quest. Or maybe not, I do so enjoy being able to take my vacation time when it's convenient to me rather than the multinational corporation I'm indentured to. But still, lab work is fun, and lab coats are so sexy!
Ah ha! I have discovered a tiny particle of pigmeat in this ricebowl! Confound you YenChing, why must you upset my system so with your tasty and convenient (yet overpriced) foodthings??
Anyways, maybe I should do some actual work here today, instead of reviewing my presentation and looking at trailpr0n (hiking season, it is upon us!!) Wheeeeeeeeee
Oh crap, rapid-onset MtPleasant-staligia from lab reminiscence and looking through Gene's pictures (again!)
