Picspam: Rupert Graves on Law & Order UK
Okay, this is my first picspam attempt on LJ. Praying to all the deities that the formatting will not trip out on me.
This is from Law & Order: UK (did not know it show existed), season 3 episode 3 named 'Defence' (according to the Youtube video title). I know, it's old news. But I only came across the link on the kink meme yesterday and watched it today - Holy guacamole! Rupert Graves can act! (But of course, that's redundant.) In addition, he actually gets all puppy-eyed at several points. As in "Look at me, look how adorable I am. Would some one as adorable as I go out and slaughter innocent strangers?"
If you haven't watched it - ¡¡¡SPOILERS ALERT!!! - RG plays a schizophrenic who is a homicidal bum when he's off the meds and a badass evil lawyer when he's on them (how Jekyll and Hyde of him, eh?). And he defends himself in court. He's manipulative and calculating every step of the way, not to mention his cleverness and the adorableness; pretty much wipes the floor with the others' asses. Well, before he goes all nutty on them. It was amazing.

In the British justice system, police and Crown prosecutors exhibit curious and fascinating habits. This is what America has learned from their stories.
...These police and prosecutors are often incomprehensible [snippet of Bradley Walsh speaking incomprehensibly XD], and often in codes (the on-screen translations that I didn't know: blimey=i'm surprised!, nappie=diaper, knackers=pants [apparent there's a bit of a controversy over this one], flog=sell, baubles=trinkets).
...They have a well-balanced diet of sandwiches...and pens [snippets of Ben Daniels chewing on pens XD]
Do they love scotch? Uh huh. But not as much as - tea tea tea XD
...They *hate* putting things down gently [snippets of various people smacking various items down on various surfaces].
...They make suspects cry. Witnesses cry. Family of victims cry.
...They interrogate celebrity lookalikes.
...They only walk by the river when the camera pans like *this* XD
...They are *compulsively* clean [scene of Eddie Marsan putting on hand sanitizer. Ben Daniels sitting next to him, wincing XD]
...The only thing these men and women *love* more than seeking justice...is wearing scarves. Maroon. Grey. Charcoal. Tortoise. Rainbow. Beige. Brown. Argyle. Plaid. DOUBLE! RAINBOW! XDDD
...It's like our Law & Order. JUST more British.
