“Luhan is such an arse.”

Those were Jongin’s first words as he stumbled through the front door, crashing into Sehun and knocking the younger guy into a nearby shoe rack. A few pairs fell over with a mighty loud thud, making a commotion.

“I mean, just look at how pretty you are,” Jongin slurred right in front of Sehun’s face, one hand grappling his shoulder for support, the other lightly set on Sehun’s cheek.

Just as Sehun was about to point out that Jongin, you might be drunk, because no, I’m not that pretty, Kyungsoo barged into the hallway in wide, hurried steps.

“Drunk again, aren’t you!” he half-shrieked.

Kyungsoo then proceeded to save Sehun from being smothered by a very drunk, and very heavy, Jongin, taking Jongin’s arm to have it curl around his own shoulders, hauling him back into the house. After only a few steps, Kyungsoo turned his head around to look at Sehun.

“I’m so sorry, are you okay? Never mind the mess; I’ll take care of it later.”

Once in the kitchen, Kyungsoo made the mistake of letting go of Jongin before he was properly seated in a chair, because the moment Kyungsoo let Jongin stand by himself, he slumped down against the kitchen wall, ending up in a seated heap on the cool granite floor. One glance at the situation told Kyungsoo that moving him, at least until he sobers up a little, would be downright impossible. So he simply sighed, and filled up a clear glass with water from the sink.

By the time Kyungsoo had crouched down in front of Jongin to hand him the glass of water, Kyungsoo could see the glare from the TV screen from his peripheral vision. Sehun was already back at his spot on the sofa in front of the TV, so he lowered his voice when he finally spoke.

“Luhan again, huh?” he asked quietly as he handed Jongin the water.

Jongin took a small, slow sip, before uttering a barely audible ungh. Kyungsoo only shook his head.

“Were you guys with Minseok?”

Jongin took another sip before answering.

“No, it was only the two of us.”

“Well, that explains it.”

The entire glass of water was then downed by Jongin in several large gulps, and he (not so gently) put down the empty glass right by his side. It landed on the floor with a loud clank. Before Kyungsoo had the chance to check whether Jongin had accidentally broken it, Jongin opened his mouth, and spoke a bit too loudly for Kyungsoo’s taste.

“Luhan is such an arse.”

Kyungsoo immediately put a finger to Jongin’s lips.

“Shh, quiet down! What if he hears?”

Jongin licked Kyungsoo’s finger, cheekily sucking at the tip before Kyungsoo pulled away.

“You know what he said?” Jongin continued, barely lowering his voice. “He said he thought Sehun knew that he was only in it for the sex. Only in it for the sex. Can you fucking believe the guy?”

Kyungsoo sneaked a look at the sofa where Sehun was, and he thought he saw Sehun turn his head around quickly, back at the TV. Perhaps he had noticed Kyungsoo and Jongin’s hushed conversation, Kyungsoo thought. Jongin seriously needed to keep it down.

“Luhan’s cute and all, but sometimes he’s just so fucking out of it. Poor kid got fucking tricked into being a fuck buddy and his only defence is he fucking thought he knew.”

“Jongin, I’m sure Luhan had his reasons to believe so,” Kyungsoo said as he stood up, taking Jongin’s empty glass with him, filling it up again, and coming back to face Jongin, this time handing Jongin a small yellow tablet along with the glass of water.

The tall guy only had time to gulp down the tablet hurriedly before spewing out words again.

“Are you fucking kidding me? Haven’t you been around? Hadn’t you seen how Sehun looked at Luhan? And the guy still had the guts to say he thought he knew.”

“Yes, well-”

“At least I know you really love me... right? Because, like, I really, really, really love you...” Jongin garbled, pulling Kyungsoo so that he stumbled forward to sit down in a kneel, nestled between Jongin’s sprawled legs.

This time, he was pretty sure Sehun saw what they were doing.

“Stop it, Jongin,” Kyungsoo tried to reason with Jongin. Reasoning with him is hard enough when he was sober; reasoning with a drunken Jongin took a whole lot more effort. “Sehun’s watching TV up there, he’s going to see.”

A hand crept up Kyungsoo’s side, pulling the edge of his shirt with it, revealing bare skin underneath. Another hand was firm on his thigh, a bit too high up for comfort.

“I don’t care, really,” said Jongin before latching his lips to the crook of Kyungsoo’s neck. Kyungsoo was about to give in when Jongin stopped abruptly.

“Wait, why is he still here anyway?”

When Kyungsoo pulled away, Jongin could see him staring incredulously at him.

“No, wait! I didn’t mean it that way! I mean, don’t you think he should be at Junmyeon’s instead? He’s spent a long enough time here, and it’s not like we can help him much.”

Kyungsoo considered this for a moment.

“To be honest, I thought since you guys are kind of close, you could...”

“Yeah, well, I’m not the one in love with him.”

The two of them looked in synchronisation at the blonde head partly obscured by the back of the sofa.

“Do you think we should...?”

“Yeah. Yeah, I think we should.”

Sehun woke up the next day to find all the belongings he brought to the house packed up neatly in a duffel bag.

“We’re sorry you can’t stay here anymore,” said Kyungsoo, still in his apron, smelling of fresh breakfast.

Sehun looked at him in disbelief.

“I know I’m probably being a nuisance to you guys, but I don’t think I’m ready to come back to my old room yet. His... stuff is still there,” muttered Sehun, sounding like he was in the brink of tears.

“Yes, yes, we know,” Kyungsoo said soothingly. “But we thought that the sofa is becoming a little cramped for you, so we’ve decided-”

“I miss fucking on that sofa, okay?” Jongin chimed in ungracefully from the kitchen. “I really want it back.”

Kyungsoo walked over to stomp on Jongin’s foot with astounding force before talking to Sehun again. “So we’ve decided to send you off to Junmyeon,” he said with a genuine smile. “He has more space, an extra bed, and he’ll take care of you nicely.”

“And you won’t catch us fucking in the kitchen, ever again,” Jongin interjected again, earning yet another forceful stomp from Kyungsoo.

Sehun sighed, partly relieved because he wouldn’t have to come back to that lonely room again for now, and partly nervous because he had grown so accustomed to living with Kyungsoo and Jongin that he didn’t know how he would be living with someone else. Even if that someone else was Junmyeon. But Sehun trusted Kyungsoo and Jongin, and trusted them he did when they said he’d be happier there.

So when Junmyeon opened the door to his house a couple of hours later, Sehun decided to open his heart, too.
