The Green Sanctuary

You've fallen through the cracks again but I have caught your hand
Humming moaning strings echo, a ballad of unnerving sounds
You felt so real

I mouthed my love to you and only you could hear me
You warmed my fingers when they rose from soil
Blossoming with flowers of the moonlight
They kiss the sky, the falling stars

Drunkenly
I chase the ghosts, the voices in the garden
That fade away into the willows
When the sun pierces the dark

Playfully
We escape
Climbing over fences

Into the night

When did all your roses die?
Where did everybody go

I find myself alone

I hummed to you a tune that you and only you could know
I whispered a narcotic hymn that should have just sedated you
And now the memories are scattered, blackened shards upon the ground
A testament to your deaf heart, I'm now weeping without a sound

Shroud me in the wet leaves, grasses that we've flattened out
I find myself alone inside your arms

Your mind is always wandering...
Wandering away from me.
Wandering into the night.
