The Smiling Mental Patient

Apr 22, 2005 00:20

Are you my new problem; soaking lonely?
Standing in plain sight where you can't find me
I can see the love that you surrendered
Once a pyre and now but smouldering embers

Further down the path I sought your reason
I came to find your heart's just not in season
When the sun is sliding down the blue sky
In the darkness your true form can arise

I see your smiles from my chamber
Trading your laughter for anger

As deceiving as your blistered promise
I refrain from your narcotic kiss
And we share a common fault between us
Our sweet fantasies were made of black dust

Over the horizon sunlight creeps
And the vampire withdraws her long teeth
Though our words are dampened, drawn and cold
The sun will turn my love for you to gold

I'll expose for you my neck
So you can draw from me again.
