pray for our our friend in New Orleans.

You guys rock. I've not heard from any of the other bands I've ever seen before. I want you to know that my name is Scout and that my family is alive. My father is a sheriff's deputy with Orleans Parish Prisons and hasn't had a shower since Sunday. He played at mass to a congregation of nine. He hadn't eaten anything yesterday or had any water and I could hear in his voice that he was being worn down. He's seeing some stuff that would shatter me or make me stone. His name is Keith Barnes and he's my dad. Could you pray for him?

As for the guy who wears your t-shirt, I'm working on finding a way to not have this semester go to waste. I miss my campus ministry team and my campus pastors as well as all of the students who will be displaced as a result of this. It's hard to remember that God works out of stuff like this, too. It's easy to slip into just me mode.

But God can unite this country in support of us if we pray for Him to. I appreciate the gentlemen of Stellar Kin in joining with me to begin that movement. You guys are a great encouragement to me, and if I hadn't a bag stolen of mine with your CD in it, I'd be jamming right now. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness doesn't understand it, can't comprehend it, did not overcome it. And in Habakkuk 1:5, I think God says we won't even see what's coming, that He's moving and maybe this was what the city needed to be cleansed, to begin the healing that its heart has needed for so long.

You guys keep doing your thing. If you need gas money next time I have a job, holler back.

With Love,
Scout and the gang.
