To all you beautiful people who have emailed me--- thank you so much, sorry I´ve been a bit behind on the replies but now I´m settled into a good place to be online every day.
I start classes tomorrow... I managed to finish all 6 pages of the placement exam but I don´t know? Meeting the family also, they had better be tight, although nothing can compare to last year.
Guanajuato is gorgeous and, thankfully, filled with non-white, non-old people.
Last night, as is tradition, groups of male University students dress up in ancient Spanish costumes and lead packs of people on long walks around the city, serenading with a full-on Spanish orchestra. I went on impulse and ended up having the most fun. This could be because
a) most of them were really hot, plus they all played Spanish guitar (mmmm seduction machine)
b) they gave us ever-flowing mugs of wine
c) towards the end, the hottest one pulled me out of the crowd so they could all serenade me with ¨Ojos Verdes¨ (Green Eyes). Yup, I love being a gringa.
Other news: learned how to play Gin Rummy (¨Ginebra Cruda¨), didn´t really celebrate Christmas, bought an amazing Rasta scarf, got lost (again), and thought of all ya´lls.
