I have a different livejournal now, and I added people to my new friends list who I didn't mind knowing that I had the new one... so yeah, you should have some random person on your "friend of" list, and that random person should be me! Don't worry, I update that one a lot, and there's about 20 of them so they should keep you occupied.!
And don't you worry about that date for homecoming thing... honestly. I never had a date for a dance until Junior prom, where I had to ask the guy because he was a sophomore (Jake), and then I had a date for Homecoming and Prom of my senior year. Every dance before those three, I just had the best time getting ready with a bunch of girls, whether it be in the dorms or at someone's house, and then showing up with an entourage and always having a group of people to dance with. And besides, it's always fun making other girls jealous by looking awesome and stealing their dates for a dance!
While it's a lot of fun to have a date for a dance, it's also a very different dynamic. You'll always feel less restricted when you're with a group of girls.
Enjoy yourself, date or not. I wish I could be there... I definitely want to just show up at the dance, but I used to make fun of alums who did that so I think I'll just stay up here.
When are you visiting? I'd have you come and visit our room and I could give you a mini-tour (unfortunately I'm not an expert of this campus yet) but I'm going home for my birthday this weekend...
If you like it up here and end up coming back to visit again, definitely tell me when and I'll make sure I'll be around so you can stop by!
