No, I didn't forget.

So I wanted to get back to that "being happy" thing I wrote about before. One of the goals was to do more creative stuff, partly to reduce stress and partly because I miss it. I have made a lot of progress on that front the past few days.

First off,the skirts. Now, I am a very impatient sewer. But I think they came out pretty good for not knowing what I am doing.

Next, the 4th of July "windsock" made from a painted coffee can and some ribbon. Stained everything and then wiped most of it off to make it look old.

Then there was a bag (that is big enough for my laptop, although I didn't intend to use it like that when I started)

There was also a matching ipod "cozy". (And a frustrating adventure through using the buttonhole setting on my sewing machine!)
And tonight's finished project is a porch decoration that I estimate cost about $2.00.

I like the "primitive" folky style of decorations they have at the craft store, but honestly it's so expensive. This looks the same and was made out of some old shutters that I think came from upstairs when we first moved in. Also a bird I cut out of some old wood I found (I get 10 points for using the jigsaw and not cutting my finger off). Add some old remnants from a Christmas wreath, and there you go.
Oh and I did have some help with the sewing :

This is Eliot. He can't sew, but that never stopped him from trying.
