(no subject)
Maybe today is a good day for posting this.
After 15 years, Supernatural will come to an end after the next season. :(
To be honest, I expected it a season earlier - I figured once you get close to 300 episodes, you want to get to that milestone and finish after that. I'm still sad, this fandom has been such a huge part of my life for such a long time. I'm hopeful that it will still be around a good while longer.
Three weeks ago I finally got the fandom tattoo(s) I'd planned for a long time. The Aquarian Star on my arm was a late addition, but I'm insanely happy with it. For my shoulder, I'm still not sure whether I want to leave it like that or add some shading or other things.
Mom, as predicted, was not all that happy but conceded that it was my body and I could do with it as I pleased. Just out of spite, she did try to claim that I was crying in the pictures I sent her from the work in progress, which was ridiculous. Dad admitted that it was very acurately done, but "You're done now, right? You won't get any more." I'm not making any promises, dad.
I had my sister take those pictures the day after while in the parking lot of a furniture store where she wanted to look for some chairs for her patio. I didn't have to take all my clothing off, but it was still funny when the elderly woman from the car next to us looked in and gave me a friendly grin.
Huh, it looks a little wriggly like that, but it's actually not. At least I hope not. :D Not like I can actually see it except for in a mirror.
It's the symbol for the "Men of Letters". I'm a big fan of stars of any form (as evidenced by my user name), I like the concept of the Men of Letters on the show, and since I'm a writer, I'm a woman of letters of sorts.
The bigger one. The book and pen naturally stand for my writing, and the symbols for the fandoms I've been a part in: Popslash, Supernatural, Supernatural RPF, and Harry Potter. I want to get at least symbols for Buffy, Lord of the Rings, and the X-Files - my first ever brush with something like "fandom", even if I didn't know it back then. I just have no idea which symbols could fit. But the first step is done, I can always add to it later.
