My former roommate has become sort of a spiritual guru. Writing books about the sense of life and things, and how to be a better you. I wish I was kidding but I'm really not.
The carpenter's visit went great! He was really happy to see me, I was really happy to see him. His girlfriend was... there. No, it was alright; better than I'd thought. It's not like she's personally given me much reason to dislike her. It's just that the first time she was in Peru, she and another volunteer didn't treat the third girl very well. And I liked the third girl very much.
It was a little surreal, having him on my couch. Every time I went to Peru he told me he'd visit me some day, and each time it seemed equally unlikely to ever happen. And now he talks about having barbecue on my balcony!
