One day I will manage crossposting. But not this year. ;) So have a meme stolen from various people.

Fannish year in review

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?
None. But since I watch next to nothing to begin with, that's not a big thing.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
Sherlock. I've meant to watch it but I just haven't yet. And Community.

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?
Sherlock. ;) And Community. Apart from that, I don't even know if there's gonna be anything new in 2012.

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?
Sailor Moon. Don't laugh! It continues to not impress me because the DVDs won't come out already.

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?
There isn't really anything I watch regularly except for Supernatural and the German Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and I'm not planning to let go of either of those anytime soon.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?
Supernatural; I love this season more than any of the last three, probably.

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
See above. *g*

Your main fandom of the year?
The SPN RPS.

Your favorite film you watched this year?
Harry Potter

Your favorite book read this year?
I started quite a few, but I think I might not have finished a single book this year. Huh. Guess I read too much fanfiction.

Your favorite tv show of the year?
Supernatural.

Song of the year?
America's Sister Golden Hair. Old but so good.

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
I didn't discover anything new.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Just the way people in fandom behave sometimes. Although I can't even tell you a specific event right now.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?
I probably actually squeed when Take That came on stage. Fandom-wise, can't remember.

The most missed of your old fandoms?
Popslash.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
More great stories, fanart, pictures. And of course another Camp Sparkle!

Year in review

Did you enjoy this year?
Overall, yes.

What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Went to a Take That concert. Went to Birmingham. Finally did the trip to the Cerro San Cristobal to have an overview over Lima (considering that it was my fourth time in Peru, it really was embarrassing that I'd never done it before). Cooked for 14-16 people (can't remember the exact number) at Camp Sparkle. Danced on my birthday.

Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make resolutions.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
No. But my cousin got married yesterday.

Did anyone close to you die?
The closest was my neighbor and childhood nanny's brother. And a young guy whose family I vaguely know was killed in an accident on the main road through my village.

What countries did you visit?
Peru and England.

What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A partner.

What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My whole Peru vacation.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Were there any? I don't know.

What was your biggest failure?
Not finding a new job so I can quit my old one.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
No major one, no.

Did you have to go to the hospital?
Nope.

What was the best thing you bought?
A Wii, just a few days ago.

Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Rosa's. Every day. She's a strong, hard-working woman.

Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Famous politicians or other men with power who think they can get away with everything. And unfortunately do.

Where did most of your money go?
Apart from rent and food and insurances: for vacationing.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My Peru vacation.

What song will always remind you of 2011?
Mr. Saxobeat (or however it's spelled). I don't like it, but it was played in the stadium for the Women's soccer championship and will probably always remind me of that.

Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. Happier or sadder?
The same, I guess.

ii. richer or poorer?
I earned more than I spent, so I guess richer.

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Going out, meeting people. Dating.

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Buying too much food so that it spoiled and I had to throw it away.

How did you spend Christmas?
With my family.

Where did you ring in 2011?
In London!

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't really hate people. There are some that lost my respect, though.

What was your greatest musical discovery?
Some more old classics from America, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, ... And Salsa.

What did you want and get?
Don't know.

What did you want and not get?
A partner.

Were you in school (any time this year)?
No, just working.

What did you do on your birthday?
I sat around a camp fire at midnight with some of my best friends. Then I danced with 7 guys. Well, 6, one didn't want to dance. I went to the hogar and spent a wonderful day with a bunch of children and the staff. I had Happy Birthday sung to me in both German and Spanish. I cooked German food at Rosa's and then I danced some more.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I'd found a new job. Preferably one in Peru.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Dress like always? In things that I like? What kind of question is this?

What kept you sane?
My friends. And that includes you.

What political issue stirred you the most?
Everything that happened in the middle east.

Who was the best new person you met?
All new children in the hogar.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011:
You can't help everybody.

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
There is none.
