I have problems deciding on a date for going to Peru again. There's a few criteria:

  • I want to fly over for four weeks again.

  • I want to be back before Christmas this time.

  • I want to go when it's summer there, so November/December.

  • I want to be there for World Aids Day. As wrong as it is to associate the two, the way Rosa told me December 1st is the day gay people meet in the center of Lima (her exact words were: "I've never seen so many gays"), and it'd be a great day to show support for both gays and HIV positive people.

All those criteria mixed together would put my vacation time somwhere around middle of November till middle of December. Unfortunately, my birthday is November 25. Now I usually don't care about birthdays all that much. For a few years it's been a day where I have cake with my family and my neighbor or my friends, or let my parents take me out to a nice restaurant where I study the menu carefully and then order the same thing every time. Although either of this might happen a few days later, depending which day of the week my birthday is. So, really not something you couldn't do just as well two weeks later.

Except this year I'm turning 30, and while that changes nothing for me, many other people seem to think it is a pretty big deal. As if I'm caring more about my friends in Peru than about them if I'm not here to celebrate with them, as if Peru is more important to me than them. When in fact it's just the birthday I don't really care about. I have no idea how to broach that subject with my parents, especially my mom. My dad is more of the I-support-whatever-you-do type. Hm, maybe I could talk to my sister about it.

I also have no clue how to celebrate, prematurely, punctual, or delayed. My cousin, who celebrated her 30th in April, invited everybody up to cousin status of relation for coffee and cake. I think I'll do something similar. Incidentally, my cousin herself might not be able to come, since that's about the time her 9 months are up.

And to conclude with: I'm writing this story, except that I'm not writing the story itself, but a part of it from Jensen's point of view, while the main story will be from Jared's pov. It was supposed to be basically just Jensen and Jared having sex, but so far I have three handwritten pages of Jensen's morning routine. He's in the shower just now. Jared's not even there yet. And now I'm thinking of cutting out before the sex even. Something must be wrong with me.

ETA PS: He's in a hot tub!
