It's that fandom! Seriously. I hate talking about people behind their back (except if it's gossip), but I don't like exposing people, either, so the name-less version.

I read (or well, I stopped reading after the second paragraph, but then went back to pick it apart) this story, and in 1655 words, there were
4 "dean"s
6 missing ' or italics or anything to indicate it's what the character thinks
9 times two words instead of (correctly) one, like "out side"
2 "impala"s
15 times the wrong tense or form thereof
1 "metallic" (which should've been "Metallica")
33 missing commas (I don't in the slightest consider myself an expert in English commas, but those missing commas either fucked up the sentence structure or were missing at the end of speech)
14 times a lower-case letter instead of capital, mostly at the beginning of speech
1 missing quotation mark
18 missing full stops, also mostly at the end of speech
3 missing words
6 times the wrong word
8 imcomplete sentences (missing verb and/or subject)
7 times wrong spelling of random words
4 times when the author mixed speech with actions, all in the same quotation marks, like "hello *pause* Sam"

In the comment below that story there were two people expressing their undying love for the story and "please write more", one person who suggested a beta (called pwsab from now on), one who declared her undying love and was (inexplicably) pissed off at pwsab, then pwsab commented again and apologized for her rude words (basically, she said she'd only gotten halfway through the story before she "couldn't stand the horrible punctuation" anymore, and people who cared about their stories should at least give it a once over and fix the obvious errors). At which point I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore and told her that she didn't need to apologize because what she'd said was absolutely right. One person commented and voluteered to be the beta.

Now that's one example, but there's a ton of these in the SPN/SPN RPS fandom, and most of the time, people seem to fall all over each other how great these stories are. If I had a talent to write badfic, I would, just to see the reactions.

Sorry for the spam, I guess I really am getting good at these rants. :)
