I remember being slammed (in a good way) by the high paced action of "Rose".
I started watching DW because I wanted to get the background before starting on TW, so it was more of a 'have to' at first rather than something that I was amped up about watching. The first ten minutes of the episode totally sold me though. I wanted to follow the Doctor along with Rose, even though his loneliness broke my heart more than a little.
I love being able to go back and watch it now being able to see it in retrospect. I also love getting to watch the reactions of others (like you) going through it for the first time. It fills me with all kind of squee. I'd forgotten until last weekend how much I really did enjoy those episodes and how much I loved Nine and Rose's interaction.
Oh yes, "Rose" just hits the ground running and never looks back. It's really exhilirating, especially once she meets up with Nine and we start getting a better look at his manic energy. What really breaks my heart are all the moments when he starts to be serious, or sad, and then switches on a dime to that extreme cheerfulness.
It's really interesting now that I'm in the position of watching all three seasons, plus Torchwood, more or less simultaneously. I know what's going to happen, at least to some extent, which puts an interesting spin on a lot of what happens in S1 and S2. And I really do like Rose, too; in particular, I'm very interested in her relationship with Nine.

All of it makes me so *gleeful*.
