As of right now while I'm typing this, just past 9:00 a.m. PDT, fandom_counts has 26,379 members. That's amazing.

If you haven't seen it yet, the CEO of Six Apart has posted an apology for the mishandling of the entire situation. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic at this point. I'm still shaken by the way everything played out (and am still stunned by how badly this got fucked up), but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that some semblance of sanity will now be restored.

Nevertheless, I still plan to back up my fic and my episode reviews at my GreatestJournal account.

To be clear: I am not moving to GreatestJournal, nor am I leaving LJ. This is simply a back-up/contingency plan. I've put a lot of work into all of that writing over the last two and a half years, and it would break my heart to lose any of it.

On a different, and brighter note, the American Museum of Natural History in New York has what looks like a fabulous exhibit going on right now: Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns, and Mermaids. It runs through January 6, 2008, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to get tickets to see it when I'm home over Christmas.

And a very happy birthday to syrenslure and twincy! I hope it's a wonderful one for both of you.

Now then. I've lost far too much brain power and writing time to this whole mess over the last two days. I need to finish my weekly stagesoflove submissions and go write some goddamn porn.

I love you guys. Fandom rocks.
