rain joy
i spent much of the weekend playing sims2 and eating fatty things that i shouldn't eat. i also watched disc 1 of "Dexter" and, as always happens with good TV shows on DVD, I wanted to watch more immediately. unfortunately i only had disc 1 from netflix...i am considering buying it at borders with my 40% off coupon so that i can keep watching. i am such a media addict.
last night was the first time i really liked my apartment. i mean, it was always ok...and better than the other crap that i looked at for the exorbitant rent that is involved in a 1-bedroom apartment where i didn't feel like i might be killed any moment or circled nightly by the ghetto bird. there was a beautiful thunderstorm, and a nice cool wind blowing, so i rolled my desk chair and my ikea footstool out onto the porch (not having any patio furniture), poured myself a glass of wine and watched the storm. elliot sat on my lap for a while and got excited every time another dog & owner happened by. after a while it started raining so ely ran inside and i had to take my furniture back in so it wouldn't get soaked. i kept standing out there though, in the rain, loving the smell & the beauty of the desert rain. i felt refreshed and alive and happy...like silly-happy and i didn't want it to end. i slept with the windows open, and everything was just perfect.
