fitness, good deeds & movies

If krista and corrina can get in shape and run marathons, well then i can at least get in shape even if the running marathons part is a tad too daunting for a perpetual sprinter with asthma. I had a rice cake for breakfast in an effort to begin achieving this goal...and while i still can't bring myself to join the gym (for unknown reasons, i just sort of shut down every time i think about walking in and getting a membership) i can exercise in my living room and re-institute my evening walk to the park & back now that it's not quite so hot outside.

I will hit trade joe's/sprouts this afternoon to re-stock my fridge (i'm basically out of everything except for veggie burgers & pasta) it's sort of too bad that i have to go to like a million different grocery stores, but sprouts has great produce & joe's has great deals/frozen deliciousness & there are still certain things i can only get at fry's/safeway (bastards). I must think of something healthy that i can eat for lunch at work...but that is the one place where i am stumped. we have a microwave but just one of those little fridges so it will have to be somewhat compact.

In other news: i did my good deed for the week on tuesday when i chased a man out of pets mart to give him his debit card which he had left on the little checkout ledge. He was a dick though, so i should have just ignored the card and gone on my merry way. he was in front of me checking out (obviously) and was talking to someone on the phone throughout the entire transaction. I HATE when people do that...and the clerk was looking all pissed so it didn't seem like she was too pleased with him either (though she didn't seem to cheer up once he was gone either, perhaps she was having a bad day). Is it really that hard to tell someone "i'll call you right back" or continue to wander around the store until the conversation has concluded? it just seems rude to talk on the phone while you should be interacting with the clerk...they are people too! i guess i'm just a better person than that guy, which is also why i went to so much effort to give him his card. yelling "sir" repeatedly obviously had no effect, he was still on the phone, so i had to actually catch up to him and cut him off so he could SEE me holding his card.

nothing else super-exciting has been going on. I got my first defective netflix dvd yesterday, and it started skipping during some sort of creepy clown dream, making said sequence even creepier. i couldn't seem to get past it, so i pulled the dvd out and discovered it to be horribly scratched. i reported it to netflix but did not request a replacement, because the creepy clown sequence sort of freaked me out. I wound up watching Underworld: Evolution and Accepted on my DVR instead.

coming soon: my thoughts on Mission: Impossible III...
