i wound up calling corrina, because i was afraid of going crazy from lack of human interaction. laura (the new jen...aka my replacement at cbr) met us at la encantada where we wandered around in search of new clothes. none were to be found, however, we did have a delicious meal at Firebirds and went to look at pretty jewels we can't afford at Tiffany's.
Then i went down to spend my gift card at circuit city (dad gave it to me, because they didn't have something he needed, blah blah blah, so i got a free $24) and while there i was called out on my DVD purchase. In all my buying of DVDs this has only happened to me once before, when the cashier holds up the DVD, looks me in the eye and judges my choice. the first time it was for the care bears movie. this time, it was follow that bird. but i stand by both of those choices and proudly assured the cashier that yes, those were for ME. we all have certain movies we associate with the happier parts of our childhood, and those just happen to be two of mine.
After being judged, i came home and hung some more stuff on my walls, changed my sheets and chilled around the apartment. i opened the window & patio door because it was a lovely 76 degrees outside. i am proud to say i did nothing superbowl related. i didn't even drink any beer! instead i worked out, heated up some leftovers for dinner, and turned my attention to the TV (ok, well that's a little superbowl-ish, but i was not watching football). it was then that i discovered my new favorite show: "Three Sheets" on the INHD channel. This unfortunately named comedian (Zane Lamprey) travels around the world to visit bars and participate in local drinking traditions. The episode that got me hooked was a champagne bar in France, and after that I couldn't change the channel until the 6-episode marathon had concluded. i wish i had that job. or could at least be part of his crew...except maybe not when he went to Belize and everyone had to drink the viper rum. But definitely when he went to Mexico and drank from Jose Cuervo's private reserve :o) jealousy ensues.
Guess that's all. Only 14 more days of work before we set sail!
