i love being wrongfully diagnosed.

sooooo about a month ago, i developed this skin rash that was really itchy. it started out like a tiny little ingrown hair or something. it was soon the size of a nickel. so i went to the clinic and was told that it was ringworm. i was given anti-fungal cream and within 2 days, i had more of these rash things EVERYWHERE. basically my whole abdomen and chest was covered in it. i went BACK to the clinic and got oral antibiotics. so 10 days later, it's still not cleared up and there's some new ones sprouting up! so i went BACK to the clinic today and a different doctor [who's a skin specialist] told me that it's NOT ringworm [thank god because ringworm is hiiiiighly contagious] but it is something called pityriasis. pityriasis is a virus. actually it's a skin irration that's CAUSED by a virus. so like i caught a viral cold from someone and my skin had a reaction to the virus. like all viral things, there's no treatment, only treatments to help the symptoms [SUPER ITCHY!!!] and it's supposed to go away by itself in....drumroll please.... 4-12 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOUR TO TWELVE??!?!! THAT'S A PRETTY HUGE DIFFERENCE. anyways. it's not ringworm which means i'm not contagious!!! oh yeah, the skin irritation isn't contagious and the doctor said i'm not feeling sick, i'm not carrying the virus anymore. whoo hoo. yayyyy for not being contagious!!! now i just need to wait for this to clearrrrr up. i think i will be taking a few oatmeal baths for the itchiness!!!
