"....no matter the cost"

((((NODS)))) sometimes the cost is great high...
So new to this environment and then called upon to perform in this way.....
I think not enough has been written about what it did to him.........

Great story.
Thank you!!!!!

Thanks so much, I felt that Sheppard might be a bit overwhelmed by what was happening to him, but in typical Sheppard fashion, he take care of it.

I can only say thank goodness for Joe Flanigan's portrayal...he brought those changes to Sheppard even though the show's writers did not.

Glad you enjoyed!

"((((NODS))))sometimes the cost is great high.."

Well that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!
It should have read:
"((((NODS))))))sometimes the cost is quite high.."

It was a lot for him to internalize...e.g.
his expression reflects disbelief at first and then it changes to determination.....as he takes 'point' as he is trained to do....
It is easy to condemn...Monday morning quarterbacking at its worst.
Given the same scenario, I would like to see what THEY would have done...
It is easy to say "Well I would have. . . ."
It is an entirely different thing when push comes to shove.....and THEY are doing it.

Forgot to reply to this...sorry. You know, JF's acting is what gave us Sheppard's journey to become the leader that he did. The raw skills were there from the beginning but he was forced to mature quickly into a strong commanding officer. Loved watching the "brass" realize that he was more than capable...but they still didn't want to admit it.

Flying choppers in Afghanistan and ferrying brass in
Antarctica is a lot different than holding down a military expedition in outer space.
He was accomplished but. . .that is a far stretch not only for him but for anyone . . .
The only stupidity is failure to admit something is tough and you are having to maneuver through the minefield cautiously
Sheppard was at least able to realize he was in a minefield
More than I can say about some of the others.

((((NODS))))) for sure
Without Joe, Sheppard was just a character on paper. He brought him to life.
I cannot imagine Ben Browder in that role. Apparently he was tagged first. . .
