Once Ray and Constable Fraser had departed she was, in fact, alone with Ray. Should she just do this fast and hopefully a little less painfully, or just see where casual conversation takes them? The latter was more like it, she didn't have the mind to blurt things out.
She held up her hands in reply. "Just adapting to the climate and enjoying life. I haven't been working much lately." She paused and smiled. "We'll get into that later. How are you doing? You look good but you could use a little sun."
