Alright, here comes the hugeass, picture-heavy Finland-post I've promised.

We left Germany (Düsseldorf, to be exact) two weeks ago and arrived in Helsinki two and a half hours later. Took #615 to the city-centre (as it's so much cheaper than the Finnair-busses) and then Jenny waited outside with our luggage while I went to get some groceries. By the time I was finished it was 4pm and our Omena-code was valid, so we moved in. The first thing I did was switching on The Voice. The first song it played for us was USA by Lovex xD
We had some food and a shower and then we took a walk through the city to do a bit of sightseeing and a tiny bit of shopping (I bought Pikku-Myy-socks and Jenny bought a shirt at Seppälä).

Helsinki-Sightseeing:

Uspenski Cathedral

Pretty boats by the harbour <3

Tuomiokirkko <3 God, how I love that church.

Wednesday was our only full day in Helsinki, so I decided to take Jenny to Suomenlinna for a few hours. The weather was great, even a bit too warm for my taste. We had put on sun-screen... which was a really good idea as we later realized we had missed some spots. I had sunburn on my scalp and several smaller spots on my chest, arm and legs. I really don't want to imagine what we had looked like without the sun-screen^^
We walked around for a while and then sat down at the sea, at exactly the same spot where Karen and I had been sitting last year :)

My feet in the sea… with fluffy algae^^

And then suddenly I saw a big wave coming and told Jenny to 'Hurry up and climb up the rocks!' Ten seconds later that wave washed right over the rocks we had been sitting on xD That was so close. We were laughing so hard, people were looking at us funnily.

Just look at the sea <3 It's so beautiful.

After visiting Suomelinna we took a walk to Tempeliaukionkirkko (which impressed Jenny quite a lot) and passed by the wonderful gossiping giraffes :D

And then we quit sightseeing, got ourselves some Ben&Jerry's (I finally got to taste Bohemian Raspberry!) and then we went shopping at Forum and Kamppi. Wheeee! More on the shopping results later in this post, in picture-form even! ;)
I think the best thing that happened that day (and that week, month, year?) was when we went into that 'black' store called Morticia. They had those really pretty dresses and I'm quite sure my eyes were shining when I had a look at them. Jenny and I were the only customers at that time and then suddenly the girl who worked there came over and started talking to us. Or me, rather. She asked me if I liked the dresses first... and then she went on and on about how pretty I was, I'm sure I was blushing heavily.
'You're so pretty! Can pleeeease dress you up?' And she was so pretty herself and really sweet, so I said yes. And then she put me into petticoats and 50ies-dresses... 'You look like a doll!' I think I made both of us really happy by wearing those dresses. Jenny took a picture of me wearing one of the dresses and she also took a video of me spinning around in another. Sadly, I don't have the video yet as she doesn't know how to turn it around :( I liked the dress in the video even better. But have the picture for now:

It makes me look even tinier^^
This is something I'll never forget. When we left the girl told me to come back whenever I was back in Helsinki and that she hoped I'd wave back at her should we ever meet somewhere on the streets and not look at her as if she was some kind of weirdo. I promised her I wouldn't. She was such a sweetheart <3
Yeah, definitely one of the most amazing moments of my life :)
We had dinner at Iguana later. It was really good, though a bit too spicy^^

The next morning we packed our stuff and left Helsinki by bus. We were in Tampere way too early, so we left our bags at the bus-station and went off to town. The first thing we did was getting tickets for Hämyvestarit at Epe's^^
I had planned on getting dinner at Café Europa later, but it was closed :(

On Friday we did some minor sightseeing and shopping. I raided Seppälä, once again... and we also went to BonusKirppis and Kaunotar&Kulkuri. I didn't find a lot of stuff though :( Only a t-shirt and a skirt... and a pretty girl with pink dreadlocks and a star-tattoo in her neck :P
We went to the bus-station later where we took a bus to Hämeenkyrö. And we even managed to find our way to the festival area and found Pasi's parents' bakery on the way! xD
The festival itself was nice, I love that it's so small. We found a nice spot on the hill in the sun from where we still had a good view onto the stage. We watched the first three bands (Tuhkalehto, Matthau and Kaija Koo) from there, more or less. I went to get ice-cream at some point and we also got up to take some pictures during Matthau's set. And then we had some Finnish festivalfood afterwards xD We got up shortly before Uniklubi started to play and I finally got the chance to say Hi to Tine, Seekie and Jacquie who were nice enough to take us back home to Tampere after the festival :)
Uniklubi were awesome! I had a lot of fun and I was even able to see a bit as I had strategically placed myself behind three rows of little girls :P

On Saturday we took a bus to Hämeenlinna. I had never been there before and I really wanted to see the castle... and the Suicide Love Boat gig ;) Unfortunately, it was raining. But we tried to make the best of it. We had a second breakfast at a café and then walked over to the castle. On the lawn in front of it they had set up a stage and a bunch of people was doing sports together. It was really great to watch. And they didn't care about the rain^^

The castle is really pretty, even in rain:

And heeeeey, I found a library! :D

We also took a walk through the rest of the town as we didn't like the band that played before SLB and it was too wet to sit down somewhere. I figured that I could live in any town in Finland, as long as there is a lake nearby. And we all know that's not too difficult :P So I'm quite positive I'll like living in Jyväskylä :)
The SLB gig was fun, like it always is. Although it was smaller than when I saw them last time. There were only 20 people in front of the stage which made me giggle through 'Crewbound'... you are our crowd, eh? x) I think Jenny didn't like them too much, though she was amazed by Chris' coat.
I called my penpal Sabrina after the gig (which was around 19:30) and she came to pick us up by car. And then we went to her house and had a barbecue, that was really nice. And I finally got to meet her cats! Especially Merlin, the little fluffball <3
She took us back to the bus station around midnight, where we tried to dance our names while waiting for the bus (don't ask, really...)

We slept quite long on Sunday, went for a walk around the harbour and over the bridge to the stadium and then payed a visit to RadioKirppis. Which was really unsatisfactory this year... all I bought was a Beanie Baby and some letter paper.
And then we went to the cinema to watch Harry Potter again :D We had just bought our tickets when I ran into Olli Herman and his girlfriend... he was wearing jeans-hotpants, oh god >.<
We went to have dinner at the American Diner after the movie and it was so gooooood. I hate fries, but I liked the ones they made. Also, we had just ordered our food when Chris sat down at a table close to ours. I felt like a stalker. But I was there first! xP
The rest of the night was spent digesting in bed.

On Monday we met up with another penpal of mine, Mira. She lives in Tampere and we never managed to meet up last year, probably also because we were both way too nervous. But we made it work this year and it was nice! We went to the French Food Market on Keskustori together with her and her friend and then walked around town for a bit. Then we wanted to have some coffee and tea. CoffeeHouse was full, so Joel (the friend) took us to a small café on the 'other end' of Aleksanterinkatu. We walked up the street and there were tables outside the café. I saw a dog lying there and thought 'Awwwww, he looks like Pablo!... wait... that IS Pablo!' And then I met my Finnish teacher, her family and Alexis' mother (remember? The cute little Finn I went to choir with?) in the middle of Tampere. That was a huge 'WTF!? This world is so small!'-moment.
Mira left shortly after that because she was really tired and Jenny and me went to Koskikeskus to have a look at stuff. I bought some socks and tights from Lindex, but that was about it.

We had microwave-food at the hotel, rested our feet a bit while watching Glee and then we went off for a walk to the lake. We were right on time to see a beautiful sunset <3

My lovely little bridge <3

THE DUCK. There was a man collecting his fishnets from the lake on this boat. He started talking to us while we were standing on the bridge. Unfortunately, I have no idea what he said xD

Tuesday was our last day... we had planned on going to Pyynikki, but it was raining. So we went to the Moomin-museum first, but then figured it was too expensive, so we only went into the store^^ After that, we went to Lukulaari, that awesome second-hand for books, CDs and DVDs. We bought so much that we went to the hotel to drop it off before continuing our shopping-trip. Down Hämeenkatu and back up again. By the time we were done the sky had cleared up, so we were able to go to Pyynikki after all :)
And as you can see, the weather was changing by the minute because when we had managed to climb up the tower the clouds were back^^

It looked quite beautiful though.

Our feet were hurting so much after all the walking we had done that day, so I didn't really feel up to going out that night. But as it got better after two hours of lying in bed we decided to go for a walk. We also chose the general direction of Amadeus and thought we’d decide on what to do when we arrived there. Sit down? Have a drink? Two? Walk on and see a bit of old Tammela?
Then we saw Tine, Seekie and Jacquie sitting outside and sat down with them. And what should have been 'an hour or so and then we're off again' turned into 'oops, they're closing' xD That was an awesome last night featuring good music, nice people and a very pretty rainbow :D

The next morning came way too fast... we caught the bus to Helsinki-Vantaa at 12:15 and though it hurt to leave the city, it wasn't as bad as it usually is. I know that I'll be back in six months or so. And I'll have plenty of weekends that I can spend in Tampere :)
We arrived at the airport too early, but were allowed to check-in already. So we had almost two hours left for airport-shopping! I bought some more Moomin-stuff, three bottles of Jaffa and a sixpack of Lonkero for my friends. And then we played UNO on the floor and watched while our luggage was put into the plane. We managed to spot both of our suitcases. Mine weighed exactly 20,4kg, btw. That was close. My handluggage was way too heavy, but nobody checked it, phew.
The flight went well. And luckily, Jenny's mother and grandma took a flight from Düsseldorf to Basel shortly after we had arrived there, so Jenny's father was there to pick us up with his car and I didn't have to drag my suitcase through four different trains.
I spent the night on Jenny's sofa and then drove to Stuttgart the next morning. Bye bye, vacation.

Alright, on to the shopping pics then!

Two pullovers I bought at Seppälä. Some of you might recognize the striped one. I already bought it last year, but I love it so much! And it was only 2,50€ anyway xD And the other one cost me way more than I'd usually spend on a simple pullover, but I just fell in love with it. It will be perfect for university.

A longshirt/dress I bought at CyberShop. The print is a tad too brutal for my taste, but I loved how the sleeves are not the same. I bought the shirt from Backstreet... I fell in love with it last year, but didn't buy it then because I thought it was too expensive. I couldn't get it out of my head all year and even looked for it in a store in Stuttgart that sells Cupcake Cult, but they didn't have it. And now I'm really happy they still had it at Backstreet :D Unicorn <3

The skirt I bought at the fleamarket and the backside of the Cupcake Cult shirt :)

black/white leggings and black tights with pink, purple and silver glittery stars from Lindex and a Seppälä-shirt I bought at the fleamarket

Moomin-fever! :D Pikky Myy-panties, -sleepshirt and -socks, Moomin-wallet. I really needed a wallet as my old one is now seven years old and falling apart. And a red wallet is awesome! I always find it in my bag :D

underwear and socks :P I just love Seppälä-underwear, it's so comfortable and still pretty <3

Okay, so I bought the entire Lord of the Rings-trilogy, The Hobbit, a 'Miss Marple' by Agatha Christie, Viva La Bam Season 2&3, three Negative-singles (I already bought Frozen last year, but this one is SIGNED! :P), Uniklubi - Kultakalat, Flinch - Äänet, the christmas-album by Antti Tuisku and a new calendar.

HUMON-POSTCARDS!!! :D

Okay, what do we have here... lots of letter paper and stickers I bought in that Spongebob-box, Sailor Moon-Stickers! And a Beanie Baby called Nanook. I tried to collect those when I was younger, but I didn't have a lot of money... but with Nanook I now have six^^

And last but not least: The superawesome sign I saw in Sabrina's flat! When I found it in the shop next to the Moomin-museum I just HAD to have it <3 Home is where the kitty is <3
Also, the supercute Marie-lunchbox <3

And that's it. Cookies!
