Canned heat...is what it feels like in he-yah!
...is when your neighbor from two apartment complexes over knocks on your door, and I go to the door only to find out that a birthday package that was delayed because it was sent to not only a wrong address (for whatever reason, because the address is correct), but and address to someone that has been away for three weeks, and is being returned to it's true and rightful owner, with apologies. What's even better is to open that package, discovering it's from a dear, dear friend from a long way off that you terribly miss because last year around this time you were witnessing one of the greatest concerts of all time together while carefully dodging lit cigarettes, and maneuvering out of arcane parking situations to go dance at a club to music of the aforementioned "greateast concerts of all time", and drink $18 drinks looking as ravishingly as we did, and loving every minute of it. What even better is seeing how even after almost 10 years of friendship they still know you, and know what you love and still care enough to show it through selecting one of the most perfect cards that I have ever seen as well as a hodgepodge of other trinkets, including film (which I can ALWAYS use), muscleman drink ornaments (which I can ALWAYS use), antique giraffe shotglasses (which I NEVER knew existed, but yet again, can ALWAYS use) as well as one of the best mixes of music I've heard in awhile. Thanks larabesque!!!
And then to top it off, I get to see Madonna (i.e. the greatest concert of all time) on TV promoting her new book, but more importantly hinting at her new album, DEFYING GRAVITY, due out around OCT/NOV, containg all DANCE SONGS (because apparently she's "in the mood to dance"), and saying she's planning to tour yet again next summer. <"Y tu tambien, mi corazon, mi mujer, senorita Lara? Una otra vez? Conmigo? Tu puedes a traer to esposo tambien y podemos a tener muchas fiestas a las discos, y muchas bebidas blah, blah, blah en espanol, muthafucka.....you better!">
Anyway, it's been a good couple of days. AND I went to the eye DR. today and my eyes have gotten .25 whatever the measurement is better. YAY!
