Apartment Search
Jim and I are still participating in the Connecticut Apartment hunt of 09. I'm still in love with his Cousins 2 bedroom first floor place. Only problem we have with it is that, 1. there is no closet in the master BR and a TINY closet in the spare, and no pantry.. theres a weird closet off the dining room and the entry (both of which are those awkward under a staircase closets) and 2. the kitchen. It's a problem. It's this big room, with 6 doors leading off of it. NO appliances and like 1 and a 1/4 banks of cabinets (the one has the sink on it too). But besides that I loooooove it. We're just protesting $900 a month with no appliances and no functional kitchen space. We thought he'd bring down the price since we're family and told him he's delusional (he's like 80 and has no idea what he's doing price wise).
But it has like 19 windows and sooo much charm and nice big airy rooms and a french door between the living room and dining room with stained glass panels on the top.. and a porch! And I love it...
But because of the kitchen issue we're still looking. So far it's been a big space/money exchange. Either it's a nice place but TINY or a big dump. The tiny places are always crazy expensive too. And the one big place for $700 turns out we wouldn't be able to fit our furniture through the staircase... and I'm not buying a new bed and couch to FIT a dumpy old farm house apartment. Blah. We're looking at another place this weekend. But right now I'm starting to think we should just tell George, fine, we'll take it. It's the first place I've felt at HOME in in CT. and thats saying something. Plus his parents will give us a frig and told us they'd buy us a stove as an early wedding present.
I've just got to up the job hunt to epic proportions, which would be easier if I could stay in CT for more than a day at a time. But we'll see, I'm going down this weekend and if my temp boss can spare me in the beginning of next week I'll try and stay a few extra days.
Gah. Wedding's are stressful, especially when they include relocating. If I didn't love the big jerk so much I'd never go through all this. Ha.
Now I wish my damn boss would show up. He said meet him at 11, its now 11:30 and he's still not here. But hey, it's his money, I'm billing from 11! And for $15 an hour I'll sit here all damned day if he wants me to.
