Extraordinary Machine
Fiona Apple's new album comes out tomorrow. She's my favorite! Kevin Brown and I went to Media Play before my first class to buy her last album the day it came out freshman year, and I've been waiting almost 6 whole years for this one. I listened a little bit to the one leaked on the internet but I wanted to wait until the "real" one is out and I'm already madly in love with the 2 tracks she released earlier. Rolling Stone gave it four stars and Entertainment Weekly gave it an A, but this is one of the few instances where reviews don't really matter to me because I just know it's going to be so so great. And while I love Jon Brion's music, I really liked the two new tracks better than the earlier album tracks.
Rolling Stone put up an OK interview that tells the whole crazy backstory of the album which turns out to be different than what everyone thought. Read it if you care here (or buy it cuz it's the issue with Kate from Lost on the cover and she looks very pretty).
Also, Mike and I were very frustrated after the 2nd episode of Lost ended on Wednesday (at least I was, the first episode was soo good and then... nothing happened). Then I watched Veronica Mars and everything was better. I promise if you watch the show, you'll love it, it really looks like the 2nd season is going to be just as good as the first.
