I've just signed up for an account on Etsy. I had hoped to be able to sell some of the wire jewellery that I occasionally make. It doesn't look like I can though.
Etsy require sellers to have a credit card on file to be able to sell. They don't actually require you to use this credit card, once you've signed up to sell the card stays on file but you can use PayPal for all of your fees. PayPal is how I was hoping to pay. I can see why they have set their site up to require a credit card, although it is very frustrating when you don't have a credit card but do have a PayPal account. I did have credit cards at one point, I am now paying off the loan that I took out to pay them off with, and will be doing for the next 4 years. I will not be getting another credit card just to sign up to a website.
