Wow, she looks super long in the Bumbo. I especially like the 1920's pic with the bonnet and the side step with the fru-fru dress. She looks like she likes the toast. Does she have any other hit foods? Eloise loves Cheerios, but she's finally been willing to branch out a bit. Trying out new foods on her is fun!

Her fav is avacado...aside from that she really doesn't care about food. It's kinda sad really. I wanted her to be all "YEAH!" about new food, but she could totally take it or leave it. We did feed her from our plates at altu's recently, she liked that!

Is that the Ethiopian place? Eloise likes avocado too. She finally decided that she would like it after the third try. She had eggs and bread today and she likes that. I wish I could try a new food everyday, but we gotta look out for them allergies. We've been pureeing fruit and veggies for her...next up is an asparagus and broccoli mix...we'll see how that goes.

It is Ethiopian. It's all like curried beans and stuff. I didn't even need to mash it!

I'm excited to do eggs and stuff. The doctor said to wait until 8 months to give her protein, though, so we've got two weeks. Do you give Eloise the whole egg or just the whites? I heard the yolk can be really allergic.

Alice's new treat this week is mini bagels! I'm pumped!

No, its the egg whites that they are more likely to be allergic to. I gave her yolks only. I felt bad when I read your comment and ran to check that I was right. There was a little white in there, but she seems to be just fine.
Nobody gave me any advice about protein or really anything about eating for some reason. We gave her chicken and turkey from the jar well before 8 months...again, she seems fine. I won't give her beef though, that stuff scares me.

Woops! Sorry for the scare!

I think doctors are more cautious then they need to be for the most part (which isn't all that bad)AND every baby is different. If she wasn't ready for protein, i'm sure you would be able to tell.

Beef totally scares me, too. I'm not really into fish or poultry either, though. I want to stick to beans for protein for a while. I don't know if we'll make her a veg. for sure, but i kinda think we will.

Seafood is just as scary to me as beef, even if it doesn't need to be. I'm okay with the poultry though since she won't be able to have yogurt, cheese, tofu, chik patties, veggie burgers or anything of that sort, at least for awhile,(but hopefully not forever). Matt's a meat eater anyway, but he does agree about the beef. I have had a lot of chicken since being limited by her allergies and it hasn't bothered me too much. (but i only eat stuff that doesn't look like chicken...like chicken fingers and nuggets, that way I don't think about it while I'm eating it:)
