Roy Davis JR & more (pics inside)
Last weekend was definitely a hectic, but incredibly fun one!
Friday, me, Chris, Will, and Jeremy went to Downtown Alive and watched "The Iguanas". (a band from nola). Talk about fun. It was nice to hang out with friends and sip on margaritas. The Iguanas provided the perfect music for that! I loved the Latin flair in their music! They even played an older Spanish song my dad used to sing to me as a child. I called my dad and told him next time The Iguanas play that he's coming with me.
Allie ended up meeting us downtown as well (Smurl was going to meet us later). We all ended up at Renassaince listening to the True Mann posse. After Renassaince everyone ended up here. What a fun night!
I woke up Saturday with a hangover and did a lil cleaning around here. Saturday night, me, Smurl, and Allie headed to nola to watch our friends Jamie, Cody, and Leo spin, as well as Roy Davis Jr at Ampersand.
We got to Ampersand to find out that the club had been double booked. WTF! There were over 50 people there celebrating a birthday (from 9pm-1am) demanding booty/rap music from our friends spinning! I understand their point of view but screw that. Our friends threw down while we danced like maniacs. When Roy Davis Jr walked in all those peolpe ran up to him. Who knows what they were requesting! They eventually all left at 1am.
RDJR's set was alot of fun. His track selection was slammin'. I was so excited to see a bunch of my friends out there too! Me, Allie, Jen, Smurl, and Chad danced like maniacs! I was also stoked to see my friends Matt, Craig, and Kris. Always a pleasure with them around =)
We ended up staying for Ellis's set (which was also slammin'), and left right when Trashy was coming onto the decks. We decided not to stick around for Trashy's set. (just not our thing)
I slept pretty late Sunday and did a few things around here. Me and Chris headed to Kellie's for our annual EC HATER SUNDAY celebration!! WOOOO HOOOO! We went to Kellie's equipped with our BBQ pit, daquiris, beer, and lots and lots of food to put on the pit. YUM!
I was so happy for Kellie...we were also celebrating DEMOTION DAY 2005! She had a freakin' blast! Much love to all my close friends there....Allie, Smurl, Chris, Jeremy, Kellie, Cacie, JamieQ, Doug... and everyone else I didn't list. I was really wishin' Nicole, Dave, and Will were there too!
That was by far the best EC HATER SUNDAY ever! Bad ass tunz, great company, delicious food, stout drinks, and of course lots of dancing in Kellie's kitchen!
