Stupidity

Sometimes I do something that reminds me how young I still am and how very much about life I still have to learn. I suppose it is a good thing it is situations such as this and not something where I could be injured or seriously damaged in some way.
I just assumed that Italy used the Lira. It never occurred to me they use Euros. Foreign currency is just something I have never paid any attention to. So when I wanted money for the trip, I went to the bank and asked for lira. The clerk is a young girl and she didn't ask why I wanted it, she just gave it to me. Thank you all so much for setting me straight. I cannot imagine the embarrassment and frustration had I shown up with lira in my pocket. I went back to the bank yesterday , got a manager and explained what happened. She was very nice and chnaged me to Euros with no problems. So much for being a millionaire, I got 812 euros for my lira. Sigh.

I am really an idiot sometimes. Anyway.
Exams yesterday went well, two more today. Up early studying now. All three of us are packed, we leave tomorrow AM. We are like kids going to Disney World for the first time. Our hotel is walking distance to the Vatican. One of suzanne's friends who has been there told us we have to spend an afternoon at one of the piazzas (sp?) people watching. She said there is one near our hotel called Piazza Novanna or Navarra or something like that that is great. she said you can order a cup of coffee and just sit there for hours people watching. By Thursday, we will be tired so this may be a good way to rest up for awhile.
In 48 hours, I will be in Rome. My God. Easy, Steffie, still two finals to go. First things first.
