busy next couple of weeks for us. dad has an appointment with his oncologist tomorrow afternoon, really not sure why but hoping he has good news. dad's been home since saturday afternoon. not eating much, but has a lot more energy than before he went into hospital. spends less time napping and more time being social with the family. still not completely better, apparently chemo ruins not only appetite, but also tastebuds. he has a slight loss of balance and with some difficulty manages to shuffle around the house several times a day. i am happy to say that he is no longer disoriented, it was quite a worry for the two weeks prior to his coming home. im getting my hair trimmed saturday morning, not sure to what length. my mom said she had long hair like mine until after the oldest was born, cutting it off after "it had been spit up in one too many times." i'd imagine it more practical to tie my hair back as i wouldnt wanna smother the poor thing during feedings. in any case, some of the male family members would probably be slightly disappointed if i had two feet of hair cut off. we'll likely settle for the usual two inches instead. i go see doctor a week from thursday for my initial appointment (i know it's horrible, but things have been understandably crazy here since mid-january). im currently keeping a written journal of this pregnancy both for myself and for the unborn babe. im also starting to sort which pictures we'll attach to the babybook. mother smith called today asking of mine and joshua's plans to marry (march 28) and offered her financial support as well as father smith's to cover the cost of the reception and marriage license. i guess that means we have to make some kind of arrangement for the rental/use of a hall to host our reception and such dull tasks as finding a caterer, a cake, a florist, a photographer, and god knows what else. our original intention was just something small, and then later on to have a full ceremony/reception for the renewal of our vows. my poor, indecisive joshua wont be of much use in these matters, i'll have to decide for myself with relatively little input from him other than "if that's what you want." *sigh* the only thing i knew surely was that i wanted it done before i started showing much, but i've already gained 22 lbs. believe me, i show in the hips and lower abdomen probably more than i should for being first pregnancy and at the end of first trimester. at this rate i'll probably have to lose 60 lbs after the babe is born. perhaps i'll be lucky and gain only 12 lbs between the fourth month and delivery. im betting this will be a 10 lb crotch buster, which i will wanna kill josh for fathering (oh, if only they had a hole to push babies out of). im not altogether thrilled at the idea of pushing something the weight of my bowling ball out of my...
