josh's grandma had hip replacement surgery last monday and came home thursday. we stayed with her everynight but last. interesting conversations took place, i took her food everynight which she liked well enough. says i make the best lasagne she's ever had (hehe). we got her chocolate and flowers and a sweet card. saturday morning conversation happened as follows: "when he came in and woke me up with those flowers, i thought he was gonna tell me you kids're gettin married. i was gonna be your witness." me: "aaawe, nah..." grandma: "well you want to, dontcha?" me: "yeeeah *nods emphatically*" grandma: "well, you know how dontcha? .... tell 'im." me: "awe, grandma he has to be 21 years old to get married." grandma: "bullshit now, carol was only 18 when she got married." me: "well grandma, it's ok for little girls get married when they're 18, but by state law little boys have to wait til they turn 21." abrupt end of conversation as josh's mom walked into the room. sunday morning she showed me baby pictures of all her kids and grandkids and some other family members here and in arkansas, gave me a small family history, and granted me permission to use her family cookbook whenever i wanted to. hehe. i love his dad and grandma to death, they treat me like i belong there. josh's dad gave him some money for our sitting up all night and doing some chores, which we're just doing because we're good children, i didnt expect/want anything from it at all. we'll probably stop in to check on her after she comes back from her physical therapy today.
