Lie to me* - 218 - HEADLOCK - PICSPAM. ♥
Before anyone gets to 'judge' or anything, let me explain some things : It always happens the same way.
I'm usually attracted to shows that focuse mainly on scientific stuff (Lie to me, House & Bones are my current favorites.) I love scifi a lot. I hate shows based on relationships only (I get bored). I watch the first 5 episodes of a show (because just watching the pilot isn't enough to see if you'll like a show or not.) And then I fall in love with a pairing : I've been a House&Cuddy fan since their first elevator scene together and I loved Cal&Gillian since their first scene together. And then I focuse on the character I love the most on the show : Gillian on 'Lie to me', House on 'House', Booth on 'Bones'.
Gillian, I love her character, I think she's a very interesting and very complicated character, and I love her chemistry with Cal. But sometimes I get to a point where I don't care if I like a storyline or not, as long as it stays interesting to watch. Because if I hate something, but it's doing good to the show and to the characters (Like the Clara/Burns storyline) I end up liking it, because it made things evolve. I don't like things that stay still for too long, I get tired of it.
I know I'm addicted when I become curious about the actor behind the character (and I do a lot of research and try to watch everything he/she has done before ending up in the show) : I love Kelli Williams ♥.
I think she's the most amazing actress I've ever seen. I seriously thought that Lisa Edelstein was great, but there was always something bothering me about her... but with Kelli, I just think everything is perfect, she's perfect. Nothing's ever wrong (well, maybe some of her clothes sometimes ^^) everything is always spot on regarding her acting, and she has that effect on me that makes me connect and feel so much. I've never felft that with anyone else on tv. And believe me, I've watched hundreds of tv shows.
So, this will be focused on Gillian, Gillian&Burns and Gillian&Cal. Because I love Gillian so much I just don't care about any other character on the show. I love Cal too, don't get me wrong! But I love Gillian sooo muuuch moooore! (You know like those crazy fangirls on the House fandom that love Cuddy way more than they love House or House&Cuddy ? ;))

Gillian kept her relationship with Burns secret. I love this, I love that she didn't tell anyone, because she's a private person, and because it's nobody's business. It's between them.
I love Gillian&Burns, I love them together, they're so cute.
You gotta love Burnsy : he gave us Gillian in a sexy blue shirt, a black bra and messy hair. OMG.LEGS. SO SEXY.
And I love how she's smiling ang giggling and doing these things she does with her hands all the time. She called him 'babe' and I wasn't shocked about it or anything, I loved it. It's so much sexier than 'honey' (which she used a lot for Alec.)

The whole "Bernerd" joke made me lol IRL so hard. That was so funny ! I think that Cal was expecting Gillian to follow him after that meeting into his office, but she didn't. I think it made him suspect something was wrong with her.

This is is the weirdest scene ever.
I believe from what I saw that Cal was there to say : "What the hell is happening to you ?"
He comes into her office because he wants to ask her what's going on with her. Which I like better than spying on her (which is what he probably did anyway, but still...) I totally think that Cal knew she was dating someone, and just waited for her to become weird or act worried to finaly make a move, because he's concerned. And curious. He didn't want to 'intrude'. And Gillian knows he knows about her relationship, the only thing that was missing was an official announcement. Her 'I'm seeing someone.' was more of a confirmation than a statement. And she wasn't happy to share that with him, since he's used to poke his nose into other people's business. I love that Cal acted surprised just after she said that and she didn't buy it at all.
"So, you've got my back, knowing my... my luck with men as you do. Is... is that what you wanted to check in about ?"
Oh Gillian. She said so much in this sentence. She clearly doesn't want him to back her up, because she's a grown woman, she can handle her relationships on her own. She doesn't need Cal's protection. The way I saw it, she thinks Cal's vision of her 'luck with men' is totally wrong. She knows herself better than Cal does. Anger is good, because she took that as an insult. Cal's actions are perceived as an intrusion in her personnal life, and she doesn't like it. Because she's independant, because she wants to make her own mistakes and learn from them, because she can take care of herself on her own.
"No. Well, mostly yes."
"Thank you. No, really, thank you. I mean that. But... but now can... can you try, and do your best... not to stick your nose into my business ?"
"Yeah I can do that."
Ah ah. I love how she tries and tries to maintain her private life private because it's important to her.
She hopes he will, but she knows he won't. We all know he won't.

This screnn with Lightman's picture on it. Convenient. I know it's hard to plan things ahead on a tv show, that's why I won't say I don't like it, but I'm not that fond of it either. I don't remember seeing Lightman's picture on screens in any other episodes. Have to check that out though.

"So how did your girlfriend track this down?"
"She called the charter company, and pretended to be her fiancée assistant."

Second. Lol at Gillian expecting a 'smart move!' comment from Ben! Plus her gesture, she's so proud of what she did lol.
I love that Gillian asked Ben for advice. I love that Ben is playing along with her, because he knows she's talking about her. She's putting distance between them and he respects that by playing along.

Gillian has a key to his place. That's so nice! And a sign that their relationship is pretty serious.
BadLiar!Gillian is such a bad liar! Except when she wants to lie.
She was just gonna take the passeport and give it to Ben so he could do research on him. I like that Gillian was caught in the act because it made her face things.
Gillian is such a coward sometimes (And I say that with all the love in the world!). But I get that she's protecting herself from what hurts the most- Feelings. But I like to see her trying. Because this men is worth it. So she goes for it-"Who's Marco Gianelli ?"-straight to the point, looking him in the eyes.
"This passeport is for work. That's all I can say."
"Just tell me the truth."
He can't, he can't tell her. And she choses to run away instead of keeping insisting and questioning him. I think at this point she just holds it against her because she didn't see that before letting herself fall for the guy. And then she's sad because she realises she's going to loose such a great guy.
"I work for the DEA. I'm an undercover Agent. [...]"
"Are you a real psychologist ?"
"Yes."
Gillian is in love with him. I find it normal that she asked him if he was a real psychologist since I think that's the thing she liked about the guy in the first place. She tried to see if their connection, her connection with him, was still there. Because how can you love someone if suddenly you find yourself with nothing in common ?
"I've withheld information, but nothing that I've told you is false.... except meeting of the foster parents." -I believe him. I know we don't know anything yet about this guy, but I want to believe him. And plus, if he had lied to her before, wouldn't she know ?
"I'm just thinking... about you and I, this... if this was part of your cover."
"No, absolutely not Gillian. The last thing that I expected on this job was to fall in love. And I don't want to loose you."

This was complitely cheezy and I loved it. Kelli is so amazing in that scene! She makes the most amazing faces, seriously.
Even though I'm watching this for the 2563241 times, it still hurts, and I mean phisycal pain in my heart. Look at what this woman does to me! I love that Burns/Atherton is in love with her (Seriously, who isn't!) and that he cares about her. I like guys like him.

I totally believe Cal knows already about Burns and this whole scene of his was a way to see Burns reaction and to tell Gillian in a very 'subtle' way that he does know.
"No, 'cause it's been donkey's years since she's had a bit, you know... or anything special in her life, right ? I mean, you know, not that there's anything wrong with her. Far from it. I mean, she's just a little bit..."

OMG that was so hilarious. And Gillian looked so embarassed! Payback from Cal because she didn't tell him sooner ? Methinks maybe.

Warning from Cal. Serious warning from Cal. Even though it's funny as hell, he's serious. She's his best friend, well we all know that she's more than that, but he can't really say it, can he? So he gives her the highest rank she can have, she's his best friend. She's the only reason he hasn't gone under. 'Handle with care'-Totally love Cal's gesture here lol- You'd better take care of her.
"Don't let him scare you off." She said that with her cuttest smile!
I think that contrary to what we saw earlier, she liked that Cal was interfering here, because it was a nice gesture from him, and very well done since he wasn't agressive or, you know, threatening the guy ^^ (well, not directly...)

"He seems nice !" - I loved this sentence. Seriously, the only thing I understood from that sentence is that CAL LOVES THE COMPETITION. It's such a game for him.
I find it odd that she brings back the case right there at the end of the episode... I think that if she had invested herself fully in the case, she'd totally have figured it out by herself... She just chose to ignore it, because her personal life was more important at the moment.
"You know, just because you share all your dirty little secrets, all right, doesn't mean I have to."
-First yeah she 'shares' meaning, she can't hide it and he sees when she's being different. Second, Cal's jealous. It's subtle, because I think he's trying not to show it, but he's being jealous.
He calls Burns her 'Dirty little secret', meaning he's got an opinion of the guy already, and it's not good. "Doesn't mean I have to."- I'm better at hidding things than you are.
"He's a good man, Cal."
"Yep."
"That's all you need to know. That's all I'm gonna share. Ok?"
"Yeah. No, I got it. No. No more questions, right ?"

Well, Cal knows, but when it comes to Gillian, he just can't. Torres is a bad liar too, especially with Locker. And Gillian. She is such a bad liar when she's taken by surprise!
Gillian offed herself from the case in this episode. It was interesting to see her more conserned about her personal life than her job and the case. And Cal. She only participated when Cal asked her to, otherwise she didn't seem to be interested in investigating. I know that some of you missed seeing her worried about Cal, but that's something I don't like to see because it's often overdone in tv shows... and you get the impression that the female character is worried all the time and doesn't do anything else besides that. Which is boring and so demeaning for a female character, especially to Gillian, since she's such a great and interesting character.
Gillian didn't confront Cal in this episode. Not once. It's like she didn't even care even though she knew he could be in some trouble. She's distancing herself from him. I think she tries to minimise her interactions with him because she doesn't want him to poke around in her personal life, so she doesn't do it either. Even though I think it's not that personal, I gess that she just doesn't want to initiate anything between them that would make him too curious about her for fear that he would start doing things on his own.
Cal's intrusion in Gillian's personnal life. I love it. Even though she doesn't, I love that he doesn't care if she likes it or not, as long as he knows she's safe.
Gillian is in love with Burns. They've been together for months, they exchanged keys. Even though we don't know anything about him, since their relationship was kept secret, I like him. I'm pretty sure he's being honest with her. I really want him to be. It's really hard to tell, because Gillian may be compromised since she's emotionaly involved with him, and the only other opinion we can have is our own (since we were the only witnesses of the scene in which in comes clean about his identity). And from what I've seen, Cal isn't that worried about him either.
Well for now. Like someone said in the Lightmanfoster com, just for once, let him be the right guy for her, the one that doesn't cheat, steal or do drugs...
