so it's not quite the same in written form but here are the 10 songs i played in my "music from movies" round:
1. clint mansell-lux aeterna
2. postal service-such great heights
3. peter gabriel-solsbury hill
4. elton john-tiny dancer
5. loudon wainwright-daughter
6. bob dylan-the hurricane
7. devotchka-till the end of time
8. petula clark-downtown
9. elton john-my father's gun
10. henry mancini-moon river
and these are the questions that accompanied them:
1. though this sounds just like a piece used in lord of the rings, what movie was this actually in?
2. whose cover of this song was featured in garden state?
3. though this song was not in the actual movie, what 2003 movie trailer was it in?
4. what movie features a famous scene involving a group sing-along to this song?
5. this song was featured in what 2007 judd apatow movie?
6. this bob dylan song is featured in the background of a bar scene in what cult classic?
7. this band's music is featured prominently in what 2006 comedy-drama?
8. what movie staring winona ryder features a sing-along to this song?
9. cameron crowe used this song in which of his movies?
10. name one of the two composers of this song, which first became famous from the movie breakfast at tiffany's. bonus point if you can name both!
it was fun! i think it was the right level of hard and easy. no one seemed bummed out by it (which we tend to do when a round is really hard or just generally full of questions that we do no know).
