.) Where did you ring in 2006? Greg and I went to a Sonic's game and then went over to our friends' house where a bunch of us ate and drank and played games. It was fun!
.) What was your status by Valentine's Day? Married
.) Were you in school (anytime this year)? No, thank goodness! And don't really plan to again.
.) How did you earn your keep? As a self-employed hair stylist.
.) Did you ever have to go to the hospital? I went to visit my FIL when he had emergency surgery and was in there off and on for almost a month, and the same with my Grandpa, before his eventual death in April.
.) Have you ever encountered the police? Not in 2006! :)
.) Where did you go on vacation? Arizona, Mexico, Eastern WA many times, Denver, Portland.
.) What did you purchase that was over $500? My new laptop....I think that's all.
.) Did you know anybody who got married? We went out of town for 2 weddings this summer. And had one here in town.
.) Did you know anybody who passed away? My papa, mentioned above in #5.
.) Have you ran into anybody you graduated high school with? I am still good friends with 5 of my high school girlfriends, and live close to where I went to school, so I see people from school fairly often. But, funny thing, when I was at the grocery store the other day, I saw the guy that I referred to as my 'senior crush'. When I was a sophomore, he was a senior, and I had the biggest crush on him. We ended up being 'acquaintances' (like we'd talk if we ran into each other) after he graduated, but I don't think he recognized me last week and I felt like crap (pregnant, tired, sick, etc) and didn't want to say anything to draw attention to myself! But I smiled to myself as I walked out of there. I need to remember to tell my HS girlfriends that I saw him! :) oh, and he had a ring on his wedding finger. Yes, of course I noticed! :)
.) Did you move anywhere? No, but we've looked for a new house off and on.
.) What sporting events did you go to? A few Spring Training baseball games in Arizona, some regular season Mariner games with my dad, LOTS of football, and now Husky basketball.
.) What concerts did you go to? Don't think I've been to any this year.
.) Are you registered to vote? Yes!
.) If so, did you do your patriotic duty on Nov. 7? Yes!
.) Where do you live now? East of Seattle, WA
.) Describe your birthday. I think it was on a Sunday, but we celebrated on Saturday. We went bowling (for a tournament that we play in every year with friends), then went out to a nice dinner with some friends. It was great....just what I wanted. I do remember that my 'wish' when blowing out the candle was that my papa would live longer if he could be healthy....he passed away about 4 weeks later.
.) What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2006? There was a time in my life that I didn't think I wanted kids. So getting pregnant is a pretty good answer to that, although it was definitely a planned pregnancy.
.) What is one thing you regretted this year? I really don't have any regrets. I'm thankful that I was able to spend time with my grandpa before he passed. I'm thankful that I was there with him when he did go. I'm thankful for my husband, our life together, our home, and our growing baby! Really, no regrets.
.) What's something you learned about yourself? That I have more compassion and strength than I thought I did. I've always hated hospitals and I was scared to go there. But when my grandpa was sick, I did what I had to do to help and had to be 'brave'. Some people might not understand what I'm saying (not always great with words!) but I did more to help him and my grandma than I thought I'd be able to do. I've also learned that I'm scared to be a mom. Excited, for sure, but nervous. I've learned that my husband is my rock. In more ways than I ever thought possible. I really have learned a lot........I could go on for a long time on this one.
.) Any new additions to your family? The baby growing in my belly!!!!!!!!
.) What was your best month? Ooooh, tough one. Probably July. It was when I was the most care-free and I always love summer when the weather is warm and we go camping, etc.
.) What pop culture event will you remember 2006 by? I don't know..........not one in particular that I would narrow it down to
.) How would you rate this year with a scale from 1 (shitty) to 10? 8
