The X Files - I wanted to believe...

I watched the new X Files movie yesterday ... a movie i have been looking forward to for SO long .. i am/was a huge XFiles Fan .. i have the whole show on dvd at home and yeah.. hearing about the new movie and even the possibility of a whole new movie series .. was just great.
so yeah.. i was happy .. and even though the news about the film didn't sound fabulous .. i ignored the ones i didn't wanna hear. There won't be aliens in it? whatever. There won't be a strong connection to the show because they don'T wanna frighten new viewers? OKAAAAYY.. Xibit will be in the Film? WTF. Dogget and Reyes will not be in the film.. not even be mentioned. WHAT THE HELL IS CARTER SMOKING!?
Yeah.. i just ignored the facts and managed to trick myself into really looking forward to this film. and yeah.. surprise.. i was disappointed :(
The story itself was just.. blah... it was okay, but it was not movie-worthy. The new agents? Xibit and Amanda Peet? Yeah.. just blah.. they were just a new version of Dogget and Reyes (Xibit is the one who won't believe anything.. Peet is the one who wants to believe) .. and i don't get it.. why did we need this fuckin new characters? This could have been Dogget and Reyes.. of course, the story would have been different but.. my god, this characters are so ridiculous and non-interesting..
but the worst thing about the movie? Scully and Mulder spend the must of the time appart .. Scully is not really working the case.. she is just a Doctor now .. working on healing a kid. I mean.. good for her, but i wanted to see a XFiles Movie, not a crossover between XFiles and ER. And she was so annoying .. just bitching around all the time that she doesn't want to go back to "the darkness" as she called the xfiles.
It was nice that the two of them were finally together.. it was nice, that they talked about how losing William broke their heart .. the short Comeo of Skinner was nice as well .. but in the end, this movie was just a big disappointment and i am afraid that this was the last breath of the xfiles franchise and now it's gonna die again.. i am just soo.. mad at carter for screwing this movie up.. waaaahh
